number of free sites in categories at start of link list...
 

What do you think is a good number of free sites to have in each category upon launch of a new link list? About ready to launch my link list and going to be working this week adding a certain number of sites inside the list for each category.

I believe my goal was 50 per category but that took a LONG time so I think I tried to get around 50 for what I thought would be popular categories and then around 30 for the kinkier ones.

I've seen some people launch with like 10 per category(or less) and all of them HFS and it just doesn't look like a site I would want to come back to.

Enough to keep a surfer that's interested in that niche happy - that number is probably between 10 & 50 :)

Not sure what you mean by "launch". My site XLEF.com was open to the public ever since I started it, even with some empty categories. Obviously, more surfers are likely to stick around when they see a lot of links, but hey, I am not keeping it hidden until then.

I think I tried to have 30 in each cat. with 30/page. My own sites, HFS's and some on the board have clean free sites (no recips) that I used.

Ditto what tigermom said, grab some from here if you need to add to some catagories.

I will be changing some of those so they are not using a hot linked picture for the POTD link. Will replace that with a gif when I find the time, but layout will remain the same.

Every time I get enough content in all my cats, I make the foolish mistake of adding new cats.|huh

Grab any hosted FS's I have - you can use them as clean sites but attaching your affiliate code makes more sense

Only prob is you'll still need Tigermom's sites to fill in the kinkier cats. :D

I'll be going through a lot of your clean site and grabbing stuff and going through programs and grabbing their freehosted stuff as well. Will be joining your program as well PapaGMP and pulling those as well.
