Cheaters beware - I'm on a mission!
 

For the past day or so I have been looking at listings in se's that use Emmy and my domain names in their descriptions or worse still, the blatant use of the actual domain name as a sub domain of their domain and its a joke |angry|

There are so many sites using our site names to get listed in google for example, that I'm now on a mission now to take them down.
I am reporting every site I see that uses our domain names to the se I find them on If they are not legitimate links, so that they are taken down permanently.

I have deliberately put this here because I know as well as the rest of you do that people read the board who are not members. Well listen up. I'm looking for you and you will get no warning email asking you to stop, I'm just going to report you to the se i find your link on and send a cease and desist to your isp and thats going to be bye bye to your pages and possibly your whole domain plus you will get blacklisted on our domains if your a submitter.

To those who are cheating, save me a job and yourself a listing and take down your fake links, bullshit descriptions, and delete sub domains using other peoples domain names, because not only will I take you down with the se involved if you use our domains but I will also tell anyone here on the board of any site I come across that also uses their domain names as well.

Kick some arse brit, i've found a few in the past with one of my domains with google & yahoo groups spamming various crap.
The stupid thing is, they may appear on a domain search but they never rank for anything which makes you wonder why they bother.

Damn, does this mean I have to take down the following site and description:

I know what you mean Bob and we have found google groups that use smutgremlins for example, in their descriptions too and I will report them to google the same as I will any other site that's doing the same.

So far I have reported 85 sites for smutgremlins on google alone and that numbers going to go through the roof before I am done.
What bugs me about this is that as much as it is necessary, It's time I could put to better use.

Having said that if you assume your losing at least a sale a week to a bogus site and that site is just one of a 100 others, the $ amount your losing goes up sharply.

If everybody on this board spends just a couple of hours a week doing this for their domains I think a lot of these sites will finally be taken out of the se listings altogether, which has to be good for everyone concerned.
Me personally, I have set aside each morning for the next month to do this and if that's not long enough I'll spend another month on it!

Its time to take a stand and stop these people from making a living off your hardwork and working together to take them down is something that's definitely possible |thumb

Hi all.
A month down the line since I started my hunt for cheaters and I can now give you a great example of why this hunt has been so successful to date.

Since beginning my crusade on June 5th, links in google that appeared for the search term "smutgremlins free porn" for example, have dropped from 499,000 to 204,000. That's almost a 60% drop in one month. I think that alone proves how worthwhile spam reports can be.

In case the rest of those cheating cocksuckers are still paying attention to this thread, my hunt is far from over and I am still actively seeking sites that are use our domain names in their titles and descriptions.

Are you submitting complaints to G,Y!, M$N, et al using DMCA or some other method?

Sorry for the late reply to your question. Things have been hectic here and we've also been away for a week or two but to answer your question:

I have submitted reports to most of the major search engines and a couple of hosting companies but I have not yet had to resort to DMCA's to get offending links taken down.

Three months into this and I have another update for you.

Assuming I use the same search term as before "smutgremlins free porn", links on Google have now dropped to 153,000. That's still a hell of a lot but compared to two months ago when the total was 499,000 the drop off has been amazing.

1st month 499,000
2nd month 204,000
this month 153,000

I am still actively looking for bogus sites pretending to be smutgremlins so to all of those cheaters still out there, the odds of my finding your site are getting better and better everyday |thumb

2nd month 204,000
3rd month 153,000
This month 90,900

It just goes to show that a little perseverance can really pay off |thumb

Actually bluebrit results inspire me to do the same thing and that site just pop up within my results.

Your linking to this site would not affect you in any way. I have only been seeking people deliberately cheating and I don't think that's the case here.

Sorry to both of you for the late replies but with everything going on, on the home front, we have been seriously busy.

This is the last time I'll add anything to this thread but I thought you may want a final update regarding my efforts over the last half of the year.

The intial number of pages that were listed on G using the term 'smutgremlins free porn' has now dropped from 499,000 to 57,900.

That's a drop of 441,100 and I am still looking!

Similarly sites using the term smutgremlins in either their title or descriptions to gain a search engine listing are also down by more than two thirds.

Not bad for 6 mths work :)

This was always going to be an ongoing project and I will still continue to submit reports to the search engines regarding cheaters as I will for all of our domains so if your still cheating, I'm getting closer and closer to you everyday |thumb

One last word to those cheating. I know a lot of you have swapped over to using the category page names and descriptions and I am on to you! Keep these pages up at your own peril because I will never stop looking for you and I will report you and ask that your pages are taken down permanently from the search engines they appear in.
