FUCKING HACKERS
|angry||angry||angry||angry||angry||angry||angry||angry|
Sorry, need to vent, some dickless bastard has taken down high traffic parts of my site and my hosting company are being painfully slow at fixing anything!!!!! |angry||angry||angry||angry||angry
Sorry to hear that.. but it's a weekend.
|
They advertise 24/7 service, so I don't think the fact its a weekend should have any bearing on it, not since I explained what needed to be checked and done to fix the problem.
I spoke to one person at length trying to get things sorted, and in the end she gave up and said she would put in a support ticket for one of the techie manager types to look at, now by this point we had ruled out certain things and looked extensively through lots of places. And I would have thought this would be reflected in the support ticket she raised. I was copied into what they received... "Some of my pages appear blank" that was it... naturally I assumed that was just one box that was filled in and that the complete form had far more information in it than that, so why was I then emailed by them to ask for more detailed information like "what pages"?? All fixed now though, still, not the point!!! |banghead||banghead||banghead

Cheers both of you. And thanks for the link Star Man, I am thinking about upgrading so may change hosts whilst I am at it sometime.

Time to move to MojoHost... just my 2 cents...

What scripts are you running on your sites? I would assume there was an exploit in one of them that was taken advantage of, rather then you being hacked. It is fairly uncommon for a host to get hacked, however rather common for scripts to be exploited. Good reason to ALWAYS keep your scripts up to date.
I would have to agree that your host should be dealing with this in a timely matter if they are offering 24/7 support, which most hosts “claim” but unfortunately it is easy to make all kinds of claims but not uphold them. It sounds like you are finding out that may be the case here. Good luck getting things cleaned up. |
It was a hack that exploited a weakness in the php install they set up (which I have no control over), it has since been fixed. If it was something I had installed, edited or done then fair fucks, but.... well I am in too good a mood tonight to rant again haha!
