Opera blocking ccBill

It's seems a default Opera browser plugin from Netcraft doesn't like ccBill. |huh

Not huge surfer volumes, but every % counts.

There was a thread about it on the zoo, and ccBill is apparently looking into it. Still no resolution yet as far as I know.

Warning Message(german):
...the site you have called was reported as fraud - they will try to get personal or financial datas from you - opera recommands urgently not to visit that site ....

Thats from their new 'list of scam sites' technology. Just added to FireFox and being tested in the the IE 8 betas.

Blocking CCBill is only a minor first example of prejudice and censorship potential for this "technology". Pure dumbass silliness in action. Maintaining pseudo-local blacklists is as big a waste of time as blocking postal junk mail based on the return address.

I hope you realized in the meantime that all you have to do is editing your preferences.

Yeah, but how many surfers actually change their default settings. |confused|

They're the ones that I want to buy memberships through ccBill.

I used to work in tech support for a major ISP and from my experience not many people even know what a default setting is...

I am not a lawyer, but in my personal opinion, wrongly accusing someone else of fraud sounds libelous.

You were right, the average guys are not too technology or computer savvy. I checked my stats and did not find too many Opera users tho.
