Happy 4th of July
 

Really no big plans today. I do plan on going for a ride on my bike for only the 2nd time this season. And, believe it or not...I will be taking a lady friend for a ride with me. Nothing but a ride and maybe a chicken barbecue but it really is too soon for anything else.

So, enjoy the holiday weekend. Tomorrow I have some friends coming over for a friendly poker game.

My wife's working today (she's a nurse)...I'll do a bit of yard work this morning, a couple of submissions later, and tonight we'll do the July 4th ritual...taking the Jeep off road and shooting off some fireworks.

This is where too many people from South Florida are headed, so my plans are simple: avoid all tourists. I may ride my bicycle down to US-1 to watch (laugh at) the people dragging their RVs and boats very slowly along the overcrowded two-lane road we have through here. Probably talk with some other locals who rode their bikes down there for the same reason. I have some left-over fireworks I really should test by lighting them later tonight, probably right before one of the island neighbors sets off his *big* personal fireworks display. I don't know where he gets his, but he always has some seriously commercial-grade stuff.

Last dance today for my daughter which means a little more freedom for the parents to party it up a bit. We'll be hitting the other people's hotel on the beach for dinner and a bbq with plenty of drinks I'm sure. Enjoy your day all.

Wanting to be the 1st to welcome in our official dismemberment from the motherland, one of the casinos shot off fireworks at midnight last night. They are up towards the canyon so the echo factor was unbelievable. Since I'd been asleep for at least 2 hours, I thought we were under attack.

Needless to say, I'm a tad grouchy.

Otherwise today is just another day..work, eat, nap, work, eat, sleep except at 9am starts a "king of the hill" marathon. Thank the goddess for earplugs so I can turn on my play list and ignore Arleneans.

Happy 4th of July! Our big celebration in Town isn't until Tomorrow night though. Living in a town that sells fireworks, we have one of the most awsome display of fireworks I've ever seen, and they usually go on for about 30 minutes. :D But we have to wait until tomorrow. The guys that shoot them off are always booked on the 4th, and really expensive on that day, so the town saves money by having it one day later, and can take that money and buy even more fireworks.

Having a cook out with friends and family after my husband gets home from work. Then most of them will head to the beach for the fireworks. Me I'm tired of dealing with the traffic, taking 45 min. to get to the beach instead of 5. I'm staying home with the baby, damn I'm really getting old...:D

Don't you just love it when you make a simple mistake coding and spend over an hour trying to figure out what is wrong? |banghead|

A friend of mine wanted to view the Ana Interview that is on my Blog but the video would not play in IE.

At first we are thinking that there is something wrong with their version of QuickTime so we spend a bunch of time upgrading it to the latest version but that doesn't fix it.

So then I'm thinking that I'm using the wrong code on my page so I spend a bunch more time researching what the proper code is to embed a mp4 video but can't find anything wrong with my code.

Thinking that there must be something wrong with their PC I open up Windows IE on my Mac only to see the same issue. |banghead|

Finally after way more then an hour of frustration I notice that the path to the movie file is incorrect on the tag that IE uses.

Took all of about 5 seconds to fix the file path but took well over an hour to notice that the path was wrong. |banghead|

This is the first year in quite a while that we didn't buy fireworks, because we just have too much shit going on.

We'll probably head over to my parents for some food and maybe drive somewhere tonight where we can see the fireworks they shoot of the pier.

Watch out for those|drunk| drivers.

Happy 4th ... Nohing realy planned today other than possibly a get together at my buddies families house. We shall see. There are fireworks all over today, yesterday, tomorrow LOL I can pick and choose.
