PR update according to Matt Cutts
 

Hi All,

I just read on Matt Cutts' blog that Google will be updating page rank over the next few days and removing some old penalties.

I wonder if this is why some of our sites, such as my http://debauchery.com, gg's http://link-o-rama.com, Jay's http://jays-xxx-links.com all just went up significantly over the last week or so?

Any thoughts from the SEO experts here?

I guess that means there is a good reason why my little site had google traffic increase by over 10x. I was afraid it would just be some kind of flukey thing that would go away.

You'll have that feeling until the day after it's gone, then you'll have the "WTF happened?" feeling until it comes back :D

The question would be what penalties they removed. Anybody have a scoop on that?

It's certainly been a good week for me. Who knew that penalties could "expire"? In any case, after 18 months in the wilderness, a lot of my sites are back, and I'm a very VERY happy camper.

Traffic went up on one of my sites and down on the other, pretty much by the same amount. I'd prefer to have it switched back. So I'm already getting that WTF feeling.

If the change was because penalties were removed then I want those fucking penalties back! |club|

I have one PR4 that went to PR3, though it still has all the top spots it had before. Oh well.

Well my green dick shrunk by 1 but my traffic is up almost 10 % and since the size of my dick doesn't affect the size of my paycheck I'm a happy dude ;)

I feel left out again :(

But SheepGuy! You're INSANE! Everyone knows that PR is the only thing that matters! Go take your "more money" opinion & shove it up your ass! I can easily see your PR, but I can't see your bank statement! I want PROOF!!!!!

Firefox tells me my site is a PR4. I can't stop looking at the green bar thingy now. It was hard work that that brought it out of PR2:)

LOL! Funny thing, a couple of years ago I jumped from a PR3 to a PR6 and traffic improved, but not as much as you'd expect, then it dropped to PR5 and improved again, and since it's dropped to PR4 it's the best its been since the good ole days |huh
What I really miss is the old SE's, Alta Vista, Excite, Infoseek, HotBot et al, seemed like you could always count on good traffic from a few of them.

google just updated their PR and guess what got my traffic 10x higher for a day or 2 and after a while it comes back. lol
