Google, you heartless, heartless bastard!

"Howl" by Grandma Scrotum

I've seen the best minds of my generation destroyed by Google...

For a brief, brief, happy moment, I thought life was pleasant again. My site was in the top ten for nearly a week... but today, it's on the last page. Again.

Fuck. Such extremes!

So much for Matt Cutt's "removing old penalties" thing. And I still have no idea why this should happen.

I'm desperately hoping this is just a reversion to the old index and not the new state of things.

I'm seeing the changes too, in fact I was going to post an update to my comments in Captain Sparrow's thread. Across the board, I didn't really gain or lose traffic after last week's Google PR/whatever change. The loss I had at one site was compensated by about the same amount at another site. Odd. As of today, it has reversed again and the traffic is back to where I'm used to it being - and where I really want it to be. Wacky damn search engines.

Google has boggled me lately. I launched a little hub site, shot up to page #2 on a model's name, then #1, dropped into oblivion, shot back to #1, now the listing is buried again...I don't really care. It was sort of a test, but it would have been nice to hold that position longer. And the torrents are not helping to keep the position stable either. I've seen this before, but usually it doesn't jump back and forth like that. I surmise the keyword gets re-evaluated more often then other keywords I've tried capturing. With another site, Google loves it's front page, sends all sorts of nice keyword traffic to it, but ignores lots of the hand-written, semi-keyword rich content deep within the site (I don't try to over optimize on the keywords with this site, I want it to be human enjoyable.) With this site I've learned how to bounce the traffic from the front page all around to the different areas. But what I'd like to see is the traffic splattered around a bit more within the site via from Google's index.

So ... I've learned to keep respecting the Google but to continue looking for alternate traffic sources.

was their a PR update , I have a new blog that I set up a few months ago and have been adding link trades , surely it should reflect some PR after an update|huh

Something sure is amiss. Girls That Squirt steadily climbed over eight months to 16K unique visitors/month and in the last seven months dropped to 5k uniques/month. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong or why the Google Bitch doesn't like me.

edit: Well, I'm still on the first page of results for "girls that squirt" so maybe it's something else. I don't think I'm doing anything differently than before so why the drastic drop in traffic?...|huh

Are you sure your site is not penalized? That's absolutely weird! Being on the first page of SERPS then went down directly to the last page (meaning in the 800ths position)? I've experienced google dance on my sites but that's is just weird. It never happened to me before.

Don't know if Google will reply if you send them an email regarding this.

My site was penalized for 18 months, although I've never known why. Nothing I did made any difference. Then, for a week, life was good.

Today I'm no longer on the last page. Instead it's reverted back to the weird thing where I'm in the 200s for a small, irrelevant page but my index page is nowhere to be found. This was how it was about a month ago.

So I'm desperately just hoping that it's a bit of dancing, the old index popping up again.

Watching Google results is such an emotional rollercoaster.

I was in the top 100 for "MILF" but since just after Christmas I've been hammered. Google is a cruel mistress! That's why I've realized traffic diversification is so important.
