Your favorite blog directorys/lists!?

Well, not so much favorites as the ones sending You the most traffic ... just top 3!
I haven't being submitting my blogs for some time so need a bit of fresh info ;-)

reyna 2008-08-01 05:32 PM

Unfortunately, I'm also looking for fresh ones :(
Just using google to gather a new list of mine.

Vivaldi 2008-08-02 08:01 AM

so far it seams it's the only way to go :-)

I find Twans directories will give you a nice rush of traffic for a week or so and then quickly push you into the abyss. Plus he has almost no quality standards and accepts RSS Fed blogs. I can't support that with a link from my site.

Last year I had a thread here going about the traffic from blog directories
http://www.greenguysboard.com/board/...ad.php?t=39331
and since then it seams nothing has changed in case of traffic blog dirs send. Directories mainly work in a top lists manor ... the more You send to them the better the chance You'll be listed in top places and get a decent return ... so if You don't have a steady outside traffic, like Your hubs, other pages, SE traffic, etc. You're bound to be buried down at those dirs.
My question is really more in a sense of who's giving You a good traffic return cause it's obvious You can't have good places/hits on/from all of the dirs ... or at least my blogs couldn’t do it.

walrus 2008-08-04 01:54 PM

In two years this is the only blog directory that sends me enough traffic to be worthy of a mention, Adult Blog Finder but I can not say I've had any success on my other blogs subbing here.

If your building long standing blogs that you want to continually work, then I don't believe any blog directory to be worth submitting to.

The ones I submit to are because they are people I know from the boards and not because I have any expectation of a decent return.

On the otherhand if you can find the rare aggregator that you can submit your feeds to AND you do update multiple times a day you can pick up some additional traffic.

the directories work for quick page rank but don't do much for traffic.

He asked for the ones who send the most traffic, Twans really do. We all know that directories are not able to send you constant blog traffic to one single blog, but if you do splogs e.g. daily and submit it, you'll receive nice traffic from them.
Dirs that might send traffic for a longer time are the ones with tons of categories and the ones that sort links depend on incoming hits.

I'll have something on this very soon. Stay tuned. :)

We will just have to disagree on that one.

Which I guess means you are building a blog a day. If that's the case then I believe you could do much better with galleries and/or free sites than any blog directory can provide.

Of course I've never gotten into the trading plugs and traffic trading that some do but that's because I've never been interested in doing that kind of thing. But I know people who do. I just wonder why. People went away from TGP's because the grass was greener on the blogging side only to drag blogging back into the TGP mentality.

I fell into the trap and found that I was rapidly losing interest in blogging in general. Now I've got a couple new adult blogs that re-energized me and while I don't spend as much time with them as I should, I do have the energy to clean up the mess I made and once that's finished I'll be back to being a purist.

I long for the day of the true adult blogger

I really can't comment since I pretty much quit subbing to blog directories a long time ago.

Cucumber 2008-08-04 08:15 PM

Like a year ago I did parallel free site building and blogging, mostly same niches, same efforts and always had better results from blogging. Now I dont build FSs, and yeah try to do blog a day, submit it, trade and do all the shit needed.
I wont go into why Vivaldi asked for blog directories, but I, as a blogger, can tell you there is not much use out of it, indeed it helps on indexing, its nice to get some start-up traffic and possible sales, but for steady traffic you'll have to take your ass somewhere else.
There were a lot of speak about whether to submit to BDs or not, I tried both and saw better results when submitting. Adult Blog Finder is nice but I get much more traffic from Twans Porn Blog Rabbit, my experience shows me that, some might experience other.

Ms Naughty 2008-08-04 08:34 PM

I submitted my blog to the full list of inter-linked blog directories and it seems that not longer after I ended up at the back of the index :(

Feed aggregators are good for consistent traffic, provided you update regularly and don't mind syndicating your content.
http://www.rssxxxfeed.com/
http://www.xxxblogindex.com/

Regular blog directories that usually do good for me:
http://www.pornblograbbit.com/
http://www.adultsexblogs.com/

I'm sure it depends on what niche you're promoting, so results may vary.

I believe this to be true. As in any part of this bizz working for Your own traffic is the only way to go.
