Questions about submitting blogs
 

Hey guys, I'm new to submitting blogs, or shall i say, contemplating adding it to my xxx program...can some of you with experience answer a few questions?

1. Please provide a sample of a submitted blog? Where are the recips? How do you submit it to more than one site? I've looked on penisbot and a few other sites and those don't really look like submitted sites to me because most of what I found was root domain submissions.

2. Are you submitting your rss links? If so, how do you prevent someone from changing your affiliate code to theirs using autoblog or another plug in?

3. When I do my blog posts, I'm just grabbing a scene link from bangbros, hotlinking the picture, and adding some sexy text with a few hyperlinks to the scene in my post. What should I change to make it better or is this acceptable? Here's some samples:

I could but you wouldn't see anything different than what you've already seen.

With the exception of Perve Space and my 2 quasi social bookmark sites and a few other social bookmark sites, all link lists and blog directories only link to your blog, not to each post.

Useless only requires a single recip on the index page. I require no recip but the script is currently sending out ping backs which does add a link into your comments. I don't care if you remove them or not but hope people keep in mind that things like this help me develop traffic which helps you

Otherwise, all recips go in your blog roll as a text link, just like all the rest

You do submit your rss links to me. This automates the process for both of us. You don't have to submit each day and I don't have to approve your submittal more than once.

I have submitted my feed elsewhere and have never had a problem with people changing my codes (although I realize it could easily be done).

Yes, with the same exceptions as noted above. In other words, UW and I link to your individual posts.

1. I submit blogs just like submitting a site. You can search for a blogs directory, whether free submission or with a reciprocal. I always do my submissions manually.

2. Haven't experienced someone changing my links...

3. Since fresh content is what google likes best. It's good that you do your own write-ups even though the images are not originally yours. What you did with the pics are fine, you can even post a message under each pic saying "Image taken from or Source: " in that way the image is not clickable and your visitors will stay longer in your site rather than click through the images and spends most of their time reading from other sites.

Just make sure you place a resource or the name of the author when copying some else's original work. You might not know that the image you took has a copyright.

I've experienced submitting subpages after getting my main link (root domain) listed, and some directories approves them. So I get more than one link coming from a directory. But it's not always like that. Most directories disapproves same domain links.

Why would you hot link a picture? They turn it off or remove it and you have a broken image. Host it yourself and your in control.

ronnie, thanks for the reply...i'm aware of the hotlinking crap that could happen and bangbros does that alot with their hosted galleries and stuff...it's not a part of my long term strategy, I'm just getting my groove right now and getting input from more experienced XXX bloggers to see if i'm on the right trail and how the bloggin' aspect of it works...

A little off topic, but you might want to think about turning on SEF (search engine friendly) URLs in WP...

e.g.
handrodeo.com/stories/eva-angelina-in-glasses/

instead of:

handrodeo.com/stories/?p=7

Might give you a boost on some keywords in the SERPS.

I would never hotlink an image. Make sure you use approved sponsor content (or content that you bought yourself) and use it to promote only that sponsor in the post. Once you do that, you can link the image directly to the tour and it's all legit.

How do you do this? It's a pretty good idea.

In WP admin go to: "Settings >> Permalinks"

Under "Common Settings" choose "Custom Structure" and enter this:

/%category%/%postname%/

Now your links should look like this:

handrodeo.com/stories/category/handjob/eva-angelina-in-glasses/

One more very important step... you will need to update your .htaccess file (if you haven't done so already). Just add the code / follow the instructions at the bottom of the Permalinks settings page. It has the code that needs to be added to your .htaccess file in order for SEF URLs to work (mod_rewrite rules).

Also, if you want to get rid of the /category/ base name in your URLs you will need this plugin:

Top Level Categories
http://fortes.com/projects/wordpress/top-level-cats/

(just enable the plug-in, then it should work. No settings to fiddle with)

Hi easymama and welcome to the world of blogging. Your blog looks very nice, especially since this is still new for you. You can do some cool stuff with the plugins too, browse around http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ if you haven't already.

I have a directory and your blog would meet my guidelines. Just keep writing posts with your own original text and update at least once a week, and you'll be doing it better than 90% of the blogs out there.

Okay, I've cleaned up my older posts so I'm not hotlinking anything...I knew better from the start, but did it anyway just to kind of get the flow going and see if I was going to keep on keepin' on with the blogs...I think i'm going to. It's not to difficult to grab a picture and a link and throw out some erotica...so what's the next step? I DON'T submit each post, I just submit the main url? Is this to like LOR and PenisBot? At what point should I submit it? I only have like 14 posts? I'm doubting if that's enough for anyone to list it? By the way, how many links should I put in a post? Am I over doing it? Are there any other tweaks or plugins one might recommend?
