CSS1 vs. the god awful font tags

.. but I am curious. With Link Lists, and Recipes that people create, does everyone stay away from CSS totally? Or is it recommended that we use raw HTML with the good ol 'b' 'font' and 'center' tags?

Tables I can understand and forego layers ... but I am really interested to know how many webmasters running TGP's / Linklists use CSS and if so how many surferss do they think they are missing by using it?
