What Link List Script Should I Purchase?

Not sure if this the right forum for this (I can see it being in any of three or four different ones.)

Anyhow, I'm looking to update my old (and mean old!) links list script that Maverick (who?) custom built for me about 10 years ago. hehe

What scripts do you recommend? I figure this is THE board for asking this question. :)

Give me the Lites and the Pros, and if you know it a rough figure on how much it/they go for please. Looking to port over current database to it, so if the script seller does that, it's a big plus too!

Much obliged?!

I don't know if Richard's Link Admin is still for sale, but MrMaryLou would be the one to talk to about it.

As far as other ones, I've heard there are some new ones out there that are more up-to-date than mine - and I've heard good things - but I can't personally recommend any.

Hello Dravyk, Link Adimn is no longer for sale :(

Thanks GG. Thanks and sorry to hear that MML.

So, any other recommends? Should be way enough LL owners on here that someone has an opinon! Fess up! :)

Oh come on guys! Everyone knows this is the place to go for this kind of information! .... and no one knows a good link list script??? |confused|

You can't all be at the convention! :)

I've heard good things about DragonList and I know that a lot of newer link lists use it. You'll find a lot of link list owners less than forthcoming about which scripts they use in order to prevent potential nonsense from auto-submitters and script kiddies.

Hiya |waves|

It may be that people are just tired of typing about it too.

Here are a few links to what's been said before about some of the list scripts.

Very true. I shouldn't give them more credit than they deserve.

I test drove a bunch a while back and settled on Dragonscrits. I like it because you can use most any web template and just drop in code for your listings. A new version has been in the works for quite some time...I'm beginning to wonder what's going on...but the latest release if very solid, just could use a couple of features. (like a referral program for example...:) ) support is excellent.

Mishi has been working on a new version of DragonList but she is also working on her family so things have been held up a bit over there.

Appreciate the feedback all! |headbang|

Figured I'd better pipe in on DragonList. ;) The new version is on indefinite hold. As grandmascrotum mentioned, I have a new little one, so I have precious little time to work on programming. Also, PHP 5 is now the standard, and 6 is on the way, and I'm not yet well versed in either. It makes no sense to me to release an "upgrade" for an unsupported version of PHP.

With that said, it's a solid script, just lacks some features. However, new features may be quite a while in coming. |huh

Thanks for the input folks!

Simon, appreciate those links. I got some excellent information from those threads.

Mishi, sent you a PM.

Dravyk 2008-08-20 03:56 PM

Think I'm going with LinkX. Again, appreciate the input folks. Gracias!
