Blogs are doable but how do you get surfers to go there?I understand the formula of a blog setup,but how is it hit on is it RSS feeds ,or the massive verbage that will attract spiders to send it out for surfers to pick up?Seriously how do i get the webbs attention???

.....various forms of Viral Begging! Seriously, Ginny and I are Pretty new at Blogs....but studying the techniques has payed-off for us! Just another very competitive offshoot of the biz....but I think you can still make bank with a lot of hard-work!

I'm no blog pro, but I do understand the concept. I'm sure you'll have someone add to my reply, but I'm sure their are tons of variables that will make or break a blog. Trading and buying traffic from blogs that feature some of the same subject will get some traffic I'm sure. Some SEO stuff with the keywords and such and how it's setup. Submitting your blog to different technorati type sites. Posting your web address in random places online. Painting the web address on your bumper...etc etc.

Have some random go go dancer spell out the name of your site across her ass in cocaine and then let the entire bar snort it...couldn't hurt right?

Tons of things you can do to get traffic. Best advice is...be creative. :)

Sometimes it takes a month or two for the search engines to really pick it up. Theres a few things you can do to speed it up like setting your permalinks right, link dumping, google site maps.. i like the SEO optimizer plugin.

write keyword rich blog post, ping s/e's, post link to blog posts on social bookmarking sites, submit your site to search engines, subscribe to your blogs rss feed in major search engines account (myyahoo, mygoogle etc.),link dumps(if you use link dumps), submit site to blog directories, link trades/buy hard links, add back links throughout your network (freesites/tgp galleries/se pages/portal sites), rinse and repeat

Build free sites in the same niche as your blog and put a link on every page to the blog. Submit the free sites to link lists. PapaGMP does |thumb

I have yet to try it, but I do believe that is a good model. Along with all of the other ways of viral marketing, submission to social sites especially if the are porn based, link trades and lots of optimization for your favorite search engine.

Be sure to promote your RSS feed. Make sure the link to is obvious.

I've had my blog up for a little over a month and get only 500 uniques a day on average. All the points listed by the others above are excellent. In fact, I just spent the afternoon building a freesite, with links promoting my blog. Hope it gets approved :P
When I chose my theme, part of my decision was based on the big RSS button that's located on it. Like mentioned above, I did it to promote RSS subscribers.
I usually update with new posts daily, at least with a little something, and try to be original and non generic.

I am just now starting to get indexed with Google, so yea, my SE traffic pretty much sucks, but it's gaining. I monitor my SE status with the webmaster services from Google, MSN and Yahoo.
And for what its worth, I'm a member of Technorati and make sure they receive a ping when I update. I also ping to a bunch of others using a web based service.
Keep at it and be patient.

very good for only one month! The first blog I put up I was getting about 200 per day after 2 months and I was pretty damn happy with that at the time.

I've just barely started my blog and I'm updating it once a day so I'll see where I'm at in two months and report back if anyone is still keeping track =)
