That would be JavaScript not Java. JavaScript is a scripting language and Java is a programing language.

Mouseovers are usually fine as long as they show the URL that the surfer would be taken to minus the affiliate code.

If Joe Surfer is ready to buy, he can't care less about the URL where he is going. If he's not in buying mood, same thing.

Freeloaders who won't ever buy, know all your links and banners go to paysites, whatever they looks like. I don't even want them to my sponsors.

But surfer don't know what's on pay site - when url is simply - he click the link - when paysite is great - he maybe will buy something...

I agree with finnbear. And when the surfer is 'afraid' of a long url, then probably he will be even more afraid to pull his cc. I prefer him to leave my bandwith as soon as possible.

I can't agree with you ... if he don't wanna pay for porn - he will go to galleries on free sites and burn your BW ! If he go out from FS to sponsor (from index or main) you dont have to pay for more BW... huh... anybody understand my 'great' english and my idea ?

And I'm aware that guys like that suck our bandwith with no return. There's not a lot we can do about that. The little thing I do is hope that they will get tired of clicking my links and start hotlinking. And then ... they are off my domain.

I really don't think that mouseovers is worth the effort. But I might very well be wrong :)

i look at mouseovers in a similar way as i do with sales people. when you walk into dillards and they ask you "can i help you?" you automatically reply "no" even if you do need their help.

its a conditioned response and no one wants to be sold something. when you have a url etc, its analigus to saying to the surfer "can i help you?"

its even worse when the site you are selling is Hot Teen Sluts which is plastered all over the banners and ads but the url is people do look at where the link is going and i think you are doing yourself a disservice if you dont use mouseovers (especially the correct "onfocus" mouseovers cleo has on that page she posted)

Well, that long URL shows in the bottom of browser. Surfer who is hot for blonde Asian teens won't even see it, as he is staring your text link that promise barely legal blonde Asian teens and the banner which has a pic of one. He has work enough to put his mouse on them and click, he don't have time to check the URL from bottom of browser.
