I must be getting old.

I went to Crue Fest (as in Motley Crue) last night concert started at 5pm went until 11:15..and let me tell you I rocked out |headbang| but Im sore as shit today.

Motley Crue
Buck Cherry
Papa Roach
Sixx AM
Trapt

Beaver Bob 2008-08-30 09:51 PM

Thats a pretty nice lineup of bands.

I saw the Crue in 2005, not their biggest fan but it was pretty cool. Saw Papa Roach in 2006 opening for Guns N Roses and I thought they were great. Still haven't seen Buckcherry.

NY Jester 2008-08-30 10:52 PM

Bob, they were all Killer..the top 3, and I was really happy to see Buck Cherry..Ive seen Crue 3 times now. Was the best Ive seen them

Mr Spock 2008-08-30 11:46 PM

Awesome stuff Jester - wish I could have been there|headbang|

I'm so freakin jealous!! |cry| I LOVE Sixx AM and Trapt!! I've been listening to Pandora radio on my computer lately and I must say, I've been more productive workin on the porn as I rock out. |headbang|

BTW, any Saving Able fans here? Their new song (Addicted - the uncensored version) is damn filthy but I like it! ;)

Fonz 2008-08-31 07:41 AM

I saw Papa Roach at the Graspop festival last year, they were pretty good. Not the biggest Crue fan and never heard of the other bands to be honest :)

Interesting! I've discovered the same thing. I usually prefer listening to soul/r&b, but when I'm building sites I've found that hard driving, hard rock really helps to keep going when doing the same repetitious stuff over and over again.

I usually listen to rockradio1, but that pandora radio is pretty cool. I like the way you can plug in a song you like and it will find similar songs.

Greenguy 2008-08-31 10:25 AM

Here's me showing my age: I saw Motley Crue on the Girls, Girls, Girls World Tour - we had 4th row floor seats |headbang|

T Pat 2008-08-31 10:54 AM

I must be older than dirt, Motley Crue is the only band I've heard of that you went to see

Greenguy 2008-08-31 11:00 AM

I've heard of Buck Cherry & Papa Roach, but other than that Crazy Bitch song, I don't think I can name another between the 2 of them.

Sixx AM sounds like some lame side-project of Niki Sixx that will go NOWHERE and no one will ever hear of again.

Trapt (see, it's cool because it's a T instead of PED) is obviously the opening act & my guess is that they won some local radio Battle Of The Bands contest :D

I'm with you T Pat, lol. I don't recognize any of the other bands.

And Motley Crue were friends with MadHatter's daughter and wanted to use his garage to practice in, but he didn't want them to because of his motorcycles...was afraid of them getting hurt, so they used to practice across the street.

His one daughter worked at the 7th Veil when they did the Girls Girls Girls video. |thumb

I was over for that - fucking awesome stuff, Cannibal Corpse were amazing, as were the slew of folk metal bands that just simply destroyed everything.

Awesome festival.

Buffalo's own - I saw them a lot back in 88 & 89 when my buddy was in Baphomet (later known as Banished)

Torn Rose 2008-08-31 01:33 PM

We saw Crue back in 1996 or whatever, Vince wasn’t with them at the time (unfortunately) and Corboti decided to "invite anyone who wants to party with the Crue to come on stage" which when you are sitting in the 3rd row 4' from stage isn’t as cool as you expect since everyone in the cheap seats wants where you are so you can imagine the near riot we had to fight through just to get out alive.

There is also footage of RubberDoll.net being used by Motley Crue in the BG for this tour so I think that is pretty cool one of my pals is getting more exposure.

JustRobert 2008-08-31 01:40 PM

OK, I am old too. I saw Motley Crue in a Hollywood club prior to their big record deal. For some reason, I have not seen them since. Though I did see Vince Neil, during his solo days, when my brothers band opened for him.

LeRoy 2008-08-31 02:59 PM

Nice one glad you had fun

Damn Motley Crue rules. The wifey is a huge fan. I like em lot but she loves everything about everything Motley Crue.

We saw them twice together. The first time nosebleeds seats. But my chick balled her eyes out the whole time anyway. I thought OMG she really really really digs em.

The then next time we got front row seats. That was baddass I even caught Nikki Sixx's Bass when slammed it on the ground and threw it out. I got mauled and dragged away. I barely made it out of the place with it, the security tried to confiscate it. Fought with them too. The real cops sorted it out by letting me keep it. The next week or 2 I had to regain my voice cuz it was completely gone |headbang|

NY Jester 2008-08-31 05:38 PM

Yeah I saw Crue with Ozzy when I was 14 and then again with Tesla (one of my all time faves) for Girls Girls Girls tour and then this past weekend.

Crue sounded the best Ive heard them sound this past go round.

Nope :) Trapt is a pretty big band, I've been listening to them quite a bit the last 4-5 years. I highly suggest checking out their songs called Headstrong and Stand Up, but both their albums are all really good, expecially the first one.

I have this thing that tracks what I listen to on my computer, so you can check out what I rock out to while I make the porn, haha.

That's cool Mr Exotic. I hadn't heard of that. Here's the one I use. http://www.pandora.com/?sc=qm74463752

NY Jester 2008-09-01 09:58 PM

They did announce that Crue Fest will be an annual type of event (much like OzzFest) we shall see.

Trapt has a few songs out...headstrong I think is probably their most famous.

Greenguy 2008-09-02 08:30 AM

I know that Headstrong song - I take back everything I said, they're not a radio contest winner, they're a one-hit-wonder :D

haha Battle of the Bands winner suits them better. I didnt actually see them, I instead watched 4 Saratoga Springs police try and slim-jim open a car for a |pokefun| local radio stations' intern who had locked his keys in the car. That was pure entertainment.

I saw Motley Crue a couple of years ago at SPAC. Too God Damn loud (is that old enough for you?) :)

How about the first concert I saw was Steppenwolf and it was the first tour that they played "Born to Be Wild" live. :) Admittedly, my parents took me. :)

I saw Weezer in 1994 and the concert shirt I bought has this on the back:

If It's Too Loud...Turn It Down

I also found out last week that my step-daughter was also at the concert :D

horndog 2008-09-03 04:40 PM

I’ve been listening to Throwdown’s Venom and Tears album a lot this year pretty heavy with some nice riffs but can’t get into any of their older stuff for some reason just the newer album caught my attention.|headbang|
