Moving from a Subdomain...

I started a niche type fetish blog on a subdomain, I didn't really think it would have much life, etc, but I kind of liked the way it turned out and I was wondering if I should just copy the database, design, etc, and just move it onto it's own domain.

Worth it? It only has around 30 handwritten posts (150 words each) and not much in the way of traffic at the moment, but I think I might want to develop this idea a little more. Should I move it?

If its already doing ok were it is and ppl already know were it is Personaly i would leave it there. Maybe start another one on its own domain. Just my opinion.

Yea, I can't see moving it doing any good for your SE listings. But I'm not sure if being on a subdomain matters or not?

If you feel like you are going to continue developing it, go ahead and do it now before it starts building the kind of traffic that you are unwilling to risk, especially if you sense that it's becoming its own distinct entity from the subdomain that it's currently residing under.

Considering that you have only around 30 posts written and not much traffic at the moment, I'd suggest you to move it now rather than later when it is built up for the same reasons UW had said.

On another hand, if the domain site is not a site you are willing to continue or something and that if the niche is related to the one of the blog, you could also build up a new site from there and have both the domain site and subdomain blog be related. Kinda like a babe site that has it's own babe blog for example.

Thanks for the input everyone :)

Yep, I think that's what I'm going to do. It's not like it's a great blog, but I'm having a really easy time writing it and that doesn't always happen with different niches you try...so, I think I'll move it now while it's still early on...granted I'll probably move it and it'll end up becoming difficult to write, blargh.

i totally agree with you on this just leave it there if it is doing well and subdomain are treated to be another domain but it also carry some weight of your index when it comes to search engines.
