Going to take my mom for a cat scan today, then I have to stop at the bank, post office and a couple of other places, so I won't be around much.

It's hot flash Thursday for me...

Doctor put me on Niacin for three weeks in an attempt to get my cholesterol under control. I've been on ever increasing dosages of Statins for a few years and for the most part live on a low fat diet but so my cholesterol test done on Monday came back "off the charts" he said so I'm taking Niacin for three weeks and then getting another cholesterol test.

About 15 minutes after I take Niacin I get a flushing warm effect and all of my skin turns bright red and then starts itching with a tingly feeling that feels like I rolled around in fiberglass insulation. The effects go away within an hour but it's a hell of a way to start the day.

Just a day of errands, cleaning house, and promoting the nasties planned for today. It's looking like rain and still no new pole in my hole so wondering if it will have to be dug again by the time of pole insertion.

Speaking of hockey, we did watch The Love Guru last night - fucking FUNNY movie. I have no idea why it did so shitty at the box office & in the reviews as it was just as funny as any of the Austin Powers movies.

I had to run to our local airport this morning at 5AM. I just got back home. :) Back to work.

But you have been allergic to nicotine, smoke etc, didn't you? And Niacin basicly is only a B vitamin, weird. You don't eat fat, meat... this cholesterol thing is a mystery, mine had been high always without reason and is high now too. The dr.s gave me a ton of new prescriptions too but I teared them apart and told them to stop it. Poor Cleo!

Lots of work to do today and thats about it.

Cleo, my wife has to take Niacin and she sometimes gets the flush. Her doctor advised her, at first, to take a baby aspirin with it. They have now figured out if she takes the baby aspirin 30 to 40 minutes before taking the Niacin it controls the flush feeling much better. Maybe this will help you as well.

Going to be doing some PHP mods to and ecommerce site today.

I took that stuff to clear the weed out of my system. It works but it was hell.

Try flush-free niacin. I used to get it bad, would get a red rash head to toe with the normal niacin, but the flush-free doesn't seem to do that to me.

Also try policosanol
and Gugulipid
as both have been proven in other countries to lower cholesterol. I currently take those two, flax seed oil, soy lethicin, niacin, and stopped eating meat. My cholesterol went from 283 to 175 without statin drugs.

I'm on prescription time release niacin that is 500 mg. Time release part is suppose to help but the effects are still pretty wicked at that dosage.

We went to see Obama yesterday here at Cashman field. My friend from the Palms had some VIP section tickets and surprisingly noone else wanted them. Both John and my RugDawg shook his hand. It was PACKED.

Took us 2 hours to get out and that was with a ride waiting for us. John took a few pics on his phone but it was so crowded I couldn't even reach in my bag to get to my camera.

Today is more work.. no play.. I'm such a dull girl.

I am back in the real world again. I did learn the last days a couple off things again....
1: some realatives of my mom's side are realy ..."freaking low life scumbags"|club|
2: even its fam and you think to know them very well...you find out that you dont know them at all and think....hell that cant be fam of mine!|shocking|
But all is over and i am back in my own life...which means.....a house with unfished painting stuff ......so what we have to do is...painting....new floor etc etc, will take another 2 weeks to finish! But it keeps me busy and my mind on the good stuff!
Mmmmm i have also some administration to do, online and offline.....Stu...grabbing some "post it" paper and writes down the administration stuff and stick it on her computer screen.

My mind is fucked. I read this before I posted and I know I've taken Niacin in the past, but it didn't click in until I started reading the other replies.

I had the EXACT same reaction to it. Aspirin calmed it for a week or so, but then it got so bad I just stopped taking it.

That was 2 years ago. I'm on Lovastatin now, even though I'm down to 188 as of my last blood work.
