Images opening in html pages

With the new trusted submitter standards, when you have images that open in new html pages, what do you put on those pages? Just a banner, just a text link, more description, like maybe in a short blog post? We're allowed one link on those pages, right? is it ok to link the image itself to the tour, or is that too blind (I can't imagine what they expect to get when they click the full images...)?

Tips, ideas and examples will be appreciated!

I just did my first site with pics on html pages, and wasn't sure about that either. What I ended up doing was every third pic page I put a banner/text link to the sponsor, and the others I rotated text links to my own sites, that way each page wasn't exactly the same. It was more work than I realized, and it would have taken a lot of time to make 24 different pages with different paragraphs of text on them, although I'm sure that's probably the best way. You also want to keep with the theme of the site.

I didn't link the big pics to anything, that would definitely be considered blind in my books. It would also count as your one link out, and I'd rather have one that I can direct with text.

I was also using my own purchased content. If I was using sponsor content I would have used a link to the sponsor on every page, not my own.

Like I said, this was the first one so perhaps people who have done lots of them have other opinions :)

I'd expect the image itself with no html page since I've seen that on many mainstream picture sites.

I also remember ole school where clicking the pic on the html page brought you back to the gallery. Also that direction was above the pic almost like a caption...

When I first started out all I did were pics on html pages...can't remember WTF I did though. Definitely don't link the image to anything, and like PG said, text with a link to the sponsor, or a banner on each page. I DO remember trying to make each sentence a little different on each page, which IS time consuming. I remember having a renaming tool so after the first html page was made I could make the required number of copies then use the tool to index up one number so I had blonde01.html, blonde02.html, etc.

Please don't laugh, these are VERY old:

Now that you mention it, I think I did that on some. Like I said, those are VERY old |haha

Ok, thanks for the feedback. I'll stick to non-linked images, with one outgoing link to the sponsor (I don't think it's fair to link to my own sites/hubs when the page is based solely on this sponsor's content).

Oh, I don't know, I've seen plenty of pages with full images linked directly to a product page on Amazon or some other affiliate program. What I think would be fair and non blind, is to add text above the image saying, "click the image to get to sponsor site" - not sure if it would be acceptable on a freesite though?

Picture of people or pictures of products? :)

What about the picture being linked to the next picture?

This is very standard in gallery viewing both mainstream and within members areas of of many adult sites.

As long as you can overcome the incredible urge to link the 9th picture to a sponsor :D

I don't know too many people who watch full-size pictures of other people and keep on clicking in mainstream. Thumbnails, sure, they're expected to link to the full image or a page with the full image. Once you have the full image though, I wouldn't expect much, as a surfer and would check the browser bar to see where they were taking me.

Anyway, no biggie, I'll keep the images unlinked ;)
