It would probably be a good idea to add some linked sales text under or above the banners.

wildbillhh1973 2008-09-20 03:54 PM

ok cool

Would that count as another outbound link from the pages? or should I just link the Sales text and leave the Banners unlinked?

elKabong 2008-09-20 04:07 PM

Sales text near a banner and using the same link is typically counted as one outbound link.

Example:

wildbillhh1973 2008-09-20 04:37 PM

ok I got it I think lol

I'm still learning html
but from your example I'm guessing that as long as both links are to the same URL and with in the same
tag the links are counted as 1

Thank you very much:)

NY Jester 2008-09-20 05:29 PM

Bill what he is saying is that the text and banner are one link.

do not close the until after the text

Code:

href="http://www.somedomain.com">This is the first line of the text link above the bannerThis is the second line of sales text which will be under the banner

I myself would watch the overuse of blinking text. Just because you can do it, doesnt mean you should. And Id put less spacing between the text and banners. Tighten it up a bt and you'll be on your way.

wildbillhh1973 2008-09-20 06:09 PM

Ok I'm sure I have it now

I fixed the banners on the Main Page and got rid of the Blinking Test
I have the main Page published and fixed
I'm going to work on the other pages now

Thank you Both :)

I have all the pages Fixed and Published Now

Thanks Again Guys|bow|:D

New Link to Fixed Pages

Teens Fucking For Books

if anyone else wants to have a look:)

elKabong 2008-09-20 08:05 PM

The 2257 statement needs to be hosted on your own site.

wildbillhh1973 2008-09-20 08:44 PM

Hmm ok
that makes sense
as of now I only have 2 sponsors
1 offers a link to the 2257 and the other offers a 2257 file download
that 2257 file is like a 5 gb download

I thought that the sponsor just didn't want to host the file.

Now I know why they offer a 2257 file Download :)

Thanks again

I'll add a couple of things:

- a lot of LLs won't accept javascript on a freesite
- your big sized pics are very heavy, I'm on cable and they were slow loading. I saw one over 560kb, if you can optimize them down to about 150 they'll load much faster
- the default font is a bit hard to read on your links, you might want to change it or make it bigger

also, your coding is all on one line, it's very hard to read the source. That won't get you declined, but it's harder for reviewers to check it if they're so inclined.

ponygirl 2008-09-20 08:55 PM

and not to pick on you lol :)

but the thumbs are pretty crowded close to the edge of the tables, if you pull them in a bit and space them equally it will look nicer

ok, I think I'm done :D

ARC-Dave 2008-09-21 05:19 AM

When I tried to go to the site it actually showed 404.

Only if there are links to porn, your 2257 is OK.

Personally I wouldn't trust a sponsor's page to not be changed or moved.

So - you don't trust me not to move this page? 2257?, I'm hurt |cry|

This makes as much sense as not linking to the sponsor's tour page because he/she might move that too.

Sure - if you want to put the 2257 info on your own domain - that's fine, but of the 200 plus LL's that I've submitted FS's to, not one of them has declined a FS for the 2257 info not being on the same domain as the FS.

If a sponsor puts adds on his/her 2257 page, then it counts as an outgoing link - in this case - copy and paste the info to your own url cuz chances are, your affiliate code isn't linked to those adds anyway. But then again, why would you promote a sponsor that did this in the first place? |huh

Do what you want... wildbillhh1973 asked for "any and all advice."

A good sponsor generally won't change their linking codes, but they do change and update their tours.

I wouldn't want to link to a page that could end up as a 404 that I have no control over.

To each his own...

ok I'll get rid of the interactive button. that kind of goes along with what NY Jester Said about blinking text" just because you can do it , doesn't mean you should do it !" LOL

I was kinda concerned about this anyway. All my pics(on this site) are in the 550kb -575kb range. To be honest I have not figured out how to optimize my pics in EX Media yet.

I will make the font bigger

I know why that happened. I told EX Web to remove all white space when publishing. I will fix that. lol , I had no idea it would cram all the code together like that.:D

Thank you for all your advice

The Link in Post #8 works

The first link is broken because I renamed a Folder in an attempt to get my sub-domain stats program to work ( no luck it still doesn't work lol)

I could not find an option to edit my first post or I would have fixed it. sorry about that:)

wildbillhh1973 2008-09-21 11:59 AM

Now for the 2257 debate:)

I can see why hosting the 2257 on your own site would be a way make sure that you CYA( cover your a*s)

if you trust the sponsor and they host the 2257 it would be easier & faster ( atleast in my case its easier & faster to let the sponsor host it)

seems to me that it's a matter of personal preference or like elKabong said "to each his own"

as I said in my first post on the subject of 2257 I have 2 sponsors 1 hosts 2257 1 does not
so I'll get experience doing it both ways:)

Thank you all, you guys have been a great help
