Of all people to pull this on.

When Academy Award-winning actor Tim Robbins showed up at his West 14th Street YMCA polling center in Manhattan to vote Tuesday morning, election officials told him that his name was missing from the register.

"I went to vote where I normally vote and I was not listed. I asked for an explanation; they had none," Robbins told CNN.

He said he has been voting in the same district since 1992. He has not missed one election, and has not changed addresses or political affiliations.

"The poll worker said my name was in the book for the primary two months ago, but missing for the general election," he told CNN.

Although Robbins was offered the opportunity to fill out a provisional ballot, he was set on using the voting machine instead.

"Refuse provisional ballots — they're throwing those out, they can throw those out," he told viewers of "Real Time With Bill Maher" last month.

Looks like Democrats have the majority in the senate, think they can get the magic 60 needed for filibuster proof majority?

I don't think so and I don't want them to. I just want them to get enough to kick out Lieberman of the caucuses. I want the parties to be forced to work together.

I don't like the fact that Pelosi doesn't allow republican input and I'm no fan of of republicans as a whole. But that is just not right for this country.

My jaw hurts from grinding my teeth all day. Even though the pundits talked about him winning all day long, I was still fearful. (I don't think I'll feel truly satisfied until his inauguration.)

If David Gregory would learn to shut his mouth and not announce unimportant news while others are making poignant statements, I'd be overjoyed. |thumb

Congrats to the US and A!

Torn Rose 2008-11-05 12:47 AM

I been tearing up all night, but I broke down when I saw President Obama and Vice President Biden take the stage together for the first time, I realized when I looked at them that we once more will have two men in office who are respected by the WORLD and we as a nation will once more be respected by the world not from fear, but from ideology.

This is a very proud day.

"Remember remember the 5th of November" is very fitting; this is the new American Revolution…And it happened in our lifetime.

I'm fucking speechless.

Toby 2008-11-05 12:55 AM

Yes we can!
