AVS site?
 

Saw this term in another thread but didn't wanna hijack it so I started my own. Anyway, was just wondering what an AVS site is? I know/think avs stands for age verification service but that's as far as my knowledge goes.

Yes thats what avs means but with the new CC regulations and the ability of minors to get cc now the concept is pretty much dead :(

While the "concept" of age verification may or may not be dead it is still a way to at least try and verify that you are dealing with adults when you sell your memberships.

AVS is alive and well.

It is a password protected system, where you can protect access to your site, and provide your members access to 1,000's of other sites for one low price, and prevents you from being limited to the option of either giving away access to your content, or forking out the monry to get your own merchant account.

AVS proggys are a great way to put up a paysite..without all the hassles of updating a site constantly...and dealing with all the merchant processing crap.

I have (and still do) make a significant amount of money off of AVS proggys...
with much better conversion ratios than any paysite sponsor or affilliate program...and yes even better ratios than Free E-zines (CE cash or otherwise)

There are a lot of AVS companies that bit the dust...and there are even more that still exist..but SUCK.....any AVS..that requires a surfer to pay for the membership...(Adult Check..., proadult, etc...) SUCK

SexKey ROCKS....Freeagepass is ok...I am not familiar with baddog's AVS..but have heard some good things about it..

Remember kiddies...its not the proggy that determines their longevity....but the processor......the ones I prefer use CC bill as a processor...CC bill makes sure....they chargebacks remain low..., therefore the AVS remains alive (as does CC bill if there chargebacks remain under Visa's 1% limit)

AVS, as defined by terms used 1-2 years ago, IS DEAD

I don't think you can even use "AVS" or "Adult Verification Service" anymore according to the Visa regs.

That being said, there are still "AVS" program out there that are jumping thru very annoying hoops to make Visa happy & take it from me, it's a big pain in the fucking ass.

It's easier to open your own paysite IMHO :D

What I liked (and still like) about AVS (or AEN....or whatever acronym is legal these days |jester| )
is the fact that unlike a paysite...you don't need a ton of content..and it doesn't need to be updated constantly...

However I am always looking to learn from experience.....

Oh - I've never converted an AVS site to a paysite but I have opened my own paysite & the process was a lot less stressful than the hoops I'm jumping thru with a certain "AVS" :)

AVS is dead and or dying..

I still make +/- 3000.00 a mo. off the "dead" AVS system...thats only two sites.


When every other AVs provider bit the dust...and every one ran for cover.....My sales wth the AVS I use...climbed 10%

that is what I am working on but whilst you can still put up a platinum avs site with 200 pics they are still good stepping stones on learning what niches convert for you, how to build tours that convert and how to get your own traffic.

A paysite requires a great deal more financial layout. So, what I am doing - and I am sure I am not the only one - is using my avs (whatever people want to call it) money to finance my future paysite projects. I have to say, I am looking forward to being my own sponsor.

I just started using AVS three months ago, and what I like about it is the traffic from their link lists, I only use a few AVS systems because their rules are easy and they send a fair amount of traffic and yes i've made a few signup from that traffic!

It only takes few adjustments to my free sites to convert them into AVS sites!

I use Sexkey, adultsights, nakedpass, freenetpass and freeagecard!
and PLEASE let me know if any other AVS proggys can send me a good deal of traffic from their linklists!

I would not go base my income on signups to the AVS sites, since most people say they're dead but I'll take what ever traffic I can get!

I am not going to argue the point with you, but if your AVS earnings dropped that much, maybe it is time to look at a different AVS.

True, some have changed significantly, that might make it a PITA trying to jump thru their hopes, but there are others that have evolved or come around that eliminate the hoops altogether. [edited] for example.

[baddog - every thread with the word AVS in it is not an opportunity to spam your AVS- DD]

Stopped listing them, stopped promoting them, stopped making them.
