He's only doing that on his mirrors.

It probably is, from an SEO point of view, the smart thing to do. I wouldn't call it cheating. Yes, it sort of sucks to not be receiving that 0.0000000001% of link juice a recip on a free site mirror might give a link list, but maybe it's more harmful to link to hundreds of different sets of duplicate content on a page. Who knows?

Thats fine.If you were to list those sites, spiders would still crawl it on your page, they just wouldn't crawl it on his domain. It's the best thing to do since most recips don't have incoming links to his site.

Thanks MML for the heads-up |bow|

Yes it's a SEO thing. Lately I've noticed that google started to penalize my sites because of duplicate content, and I thought that adding the noindex meta tag, would be the best way to avoid further penalization.

I never thought that someone could see it as cheating.

I can easily remove the tag if you guys think it's cheating or unfair to use it.

Ok ... I just read more about the noindex tag.

The best thing to do, is to change the "nofollow" atribute into "follow", and keep the "noindex" atribute. The meta tag would look like this :

.

This way google robots won't penalize my sites for duplicate content and the link lists still receive that 0.0000000001% of link juice |thumb
