Greenguy's Board - Introducing: Fuckingstation Reloaded

Hi everyone, a while ago I made a post (here) in which I announced a new free blog host.

Skip this paragraph if you just want to know what I'm introducing

Right after that, I lost internet access due to being in the ass-end of the world, and my ISP basically being run by an infinite amount of monkeys who occasionally manage to fix a problem, but I digress...
After regaining my much-needed Internet, I looked at my project a bit more, read a bit more, and came to a conclusion: 100% free bloghosts are not the way to go.

And now.. introducing...

Fuckingstation got a good make-over, and has been turned into Fuckingstation Reloaded. We still hosts blogs for free, but each account has a maximum of 5 free blogs that one can create.

So, what else do we have? Well, we have very attractively priced paid accounts. A paid account will raise quotas, limits, and gives access to more interesting features, such as having your blog hosted on your own domain.

Our system

We use a completely custom blogging system, it allows you to manage many blogs under a single account. An interesting feature we have is that we directly support new Blogger templates. (Those funky XML ones). We're currently importing a lot of these, but they do require a fair amount of touch-up.

We also have built-in media storage (images only, sorry), statistics on pageviews and uniques, and a whole list of tools in the pipeline.

Our server

We run the whole kit and kaboodle on a server with AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ Dual Core CPU's, 4 gigabytes of memory, RAID 1 storage, and gigabit ethernet to our hoster's network.

Backups are made daily and stored on the server, with the weekly backup being distributed to other locations (such as other servers we own, and a copy to my own workstation where it gets burned on CD.)

What sets us apart?

Well, this is a hard question. I believe that Fuckingstation integrates many of the tools an adult webmaster needs in a much better fashion than most other blog hosts out there. We also get quite fanatical about support, and are always willing to implement custom features, or build custom templates for your blogging needs.

Also we offer up easily downloadable backups of your blog posts in a variety of formats, such as RSS. One of our RSS backups will import cleanly into any Wordpress installation! Might be shooting ourselves in the foot with it, but hey ;) We like our reputation to be good, so we're trying to make our system work the way you want it.

The future

We're already working on more tools and features to add, importing templates, and are currently working on adding the final touches to our backend that allows us to run all of it off a server cluster where we can add capacity on an as-needed basis. Meaning: no more downtime, ever. Unless the internet melts down. Or the earth blows up. Or something on that scale of event.

And now what?

Well, go sign up! Even if you already have your blogs on your own server, using Wordpress or Movable Type, check us out anyway. You can use our service for easily maintained feeder blogs, or go the whole hog and host your entire blog empire with us.
