Retro Raunch in receivership
 

I got back from holidays to find a letter from a receivership company informing me that Retro Raunch was in liquidation. It was only a small site but it had been online since 1997.

My first thought was how unusual it was for a porn company to actually do the bankruptcy thing. Don't people just normally pocket the money and flee?

I figured I wasn't owed much but I finally got around to checking the stats today and there was $170 bucks there.

So there goes another wad of cash into the ether, joining the stuff owed me by iBill and Globill and numerous other scoundrels. :(

There have been a couple of programs that went bankrupt. The one that comes to mind right now was "insite adult". Damn, that had to be 7 years ago or more.

Insite owed me $4k when they went MIA & eventually bankrupt.

Thank god tasty cakes are still selling well.

Always sad to hear. I deactivated the links to them in my LLs, and was glad to see they didn't owe me any money. I thought their sites were really cool, but I couldn't seem to convert the traffic I sent to them from my vintage/retro categories.

Anyone got any suggestions for a good replacement retro/vintage sponsor?

I think Ramster has a site with NS Cash and Pimproll has a retro site now.

I'm now sorting through the sponsors on my Quirky Sex linklist and finding FAR too many are not operating anymore :(

My scoundrel list is fairly small, AdultCheck, who I felt fishy about and stopped building for just before the rip-off doesn't owe me that much in the big scheme of things, but the sleazy way they screwed my friends really pissed me off, so they'd be #1.
ProAdult screwed me for more money, but at least they didn't tell my buddies to keep quiet about it and get paid, like AdultCheck did. Doing it the way Adult Check did cost me one so-called friendship, doing it the way ProAdult did, just cost me money. So even though ProAdult cost me more they are #2.
Add IBill and GloBill and some European processor who's name I can't remember and that pretty much covers my scoundrel list. I figure I've been fairly lucky.
This kind of shit goes on in every business, so you don't put all of your eggs in one basket.

I never promoted retroraunch. always a bit too narrow for my taste. Why do some people still keep in the confines of 800x600?

I don't even keep track any more so many small cam sites disappear without paying. The way I figure it unless the money is in my hand it doesn't really count, stuff showing on stats pages but not yet paid out is fantasy money and I don't worry about it too much.
