Looking for Info on Payment Processor

Hello all,

Been reading the boards here for a few weeks for advice, but this is my first post.

We are currently using CCBILL, and I am looking at switching to Zombaio (a site I found out about here in Webmaster Resources).

The fact that you don't need a merchant account, and that they are advertising a rate of 4.9% is very attractive. Plus they seem to accept all currencies, types of credit payments.

Has anyone here worked with them? Would you recommend?

THanks for any help.

First, why are you looking to move from CCBill?

Second, that 4.9% rate seems to good too be true. So I'd want to find out WHY they're able to offer that low rate and what the potential consequences might be if things go awry.

Third, make sure you check out the Visa rules regarding cross border acquisitions.

Google shows in results this thread that can be useful for you but if this company is really real one guy from them should appear there or here like Paul from CCBill with answers.

( is zombaio and zango the same ?:D )

Hey Toby,

I really have liked CCBill. However, they do require you have your own merchant account ($350 a year) plus they charge 14%.

This site claims to do the exact same thing (membership password directory) with no merchant account and 5%.

So I was just exploring options to see if anyone had experience with them.

I would NEVER trust my money with a company I've never heard of. Pay the $350 yearly fee, cost of doing business.

And I bet 5% is their fee, there is still the merchant account visa/mc processing fees of 4-5%.

Pardon my ignorance, but isn't that $350 yearly fee for the honor of being able to accept Visa -- not for a merchant account?

Dude, I would hardly call you ignorant. I have learned a lot from your posts!

Anyway, it's $700 for the first year, $400 afterwards for a merchant account. Which I believe is the only way to accept Visa through CCBill.

CCBill does give you the option of not accepting Visa, and just going through telephone sales. But, that's really not much of an option.

For a moment I thought we were talking about Zombo.com. The unattainable is unknown at Zombo.com

OK out of curiosity I read the GFY threads.
http://www.google.com.au/search?num=...G=Search&meta=

From a GFY post: "Zombaio is the front for the Swedish firm Samport Payment Services AB.

Samport is a solid company in Sweden, 20 employees, annual turnover 10,6 million sek (1.2m euro) last year. So Zombaio is registered in the US, banking made in Cyrus and operated from Sweden.

All thoose offices on their homepage are probably unmanned and forwarded to Sweden.
http://www.samport.se"

Zambaio previously did processing for gambling. They said their anti-fraud processes were solid as a result of this which meant the CC companies trusted them.

They were also saying they would eat the $750 Visa fee in order to attract new webmasters. They said they'd process for Canadians but didn't give further detail.

Look at Standardpay.com working with these guys for ages - low comissions and very good antifroad activities.

My ears were ringing ;)

And just to clarify, CCBill clients process through our merchant account not their own. The fees we charge ($750 initially) are for US Visa registration only. You can not choose to process Visa and still accept, MasterCard, Discover, JCB, Telephone signups, Check signups, EU Debit (EU Checks), and Direct Pay (EU wire transfers) however we strongly advise that you process Visa.
