New here / Blog questions

Hi,

My name is Jonathan. I guess my questions are just the basic blogging 101, but i have no clue. |loony|

- Keywords. Should i try to go with just one single keyword and spend all my energy on that one, or is it better to go with a two words or more search phrase?

- Images. I have resized pics for the 30 first posts. Should i include my keyword/phrase when i rename them, like "search_phrase_001.jpg", or maybe it does not matter?
And also, all these images feat. pornstars with big tits, so maybe "Candy_Manson_search_phrase_001.jpg", or am i way out of line? lol

- Should i update this blog everyday for like two months, have like five hardlink trades and submit the blog to directories,
and after that just leave it on feeds and start a new one and do the same, and link them all together when you have three+ blogs in the same niche?
Or maybe i should go with just one and update it everyday, try to find as many quality hardlink trades as possible etc., i dont know?

- Should i link them to the tour or a gallery? Your opinion?

Thanks in advance
Jonathan

Think multiple keyword phrases. With a blog you can get pretty spammy sounding if you stick with a single keyword / phrase for too long. Remember too that ultimately each post is also a single page.

Again you want to be careful with getting spammy but the answer is yes

You'll find different answers for different peoples preferences. One way works for some the other works for me.

I'd say start with one for a little bit and find out how much work it is for you. Some people can put together good posts pretty quickly and then there's others, like me, who can take an hour or so to think through a post.

It also depends on the length of the post as to the amount of time to write it.

Once your up to speed then start increasing the number of blogs you build.

I'd stick to hand written myself. Feeds suck and if you have any pride in what your doing you'll end up editing a large percentage of them anyway.

I will typically work three links into a post. The picture linking to a gallery and then I'll work in a link to the tour and if the sponsor offers it a link to the join page.

I figure I'm a salesman, no reason I can't ask for the sale directly.

Hi Jonathan, how is the Dragon?

I would not recommend to use underscores in file names. Better use a - (dash)

Hey Jon, mix it up and see what works best. What I do is similar to what Walrus does, but sometimes I'll link the picture direct to the tour. It works great on some traffic. I am experiementing with a few blogs right now that update daily with a couple nice size pictures that just link to the tour.

With blogs, theres really no clear cut rules, its all up to you. :)

As Walrus stated, mix up your search terms. Work ona few different individual and phrases rather than just one, you'll see better results.

As for what to link to..just as Bob has said, I mix my links up. From a single image, gallery or tour. Have to try it and see what works for you and your specific traffic.

Thanks for the answers.

If i fill the first page with 10 posts and backdate them, then update with a new post every day. How long before i should see any traffic? Weeks? Months?
Will i see any traffic to talk about at all without hardlinks/trades/directories etc?

Edit: And what ctr from link/image to sponsor tour should i expect?

I wouldn't backdate them. the couple blogs I tried that with never quite caught on with google. I would make a post every 2 or 3 days and see what happens.

yes you can get traffic on your own.

as far as ctr ratio, it will depend on the traffic, probably around 20-25%.
