Enjoying the cool weather here with the windows open.

The DSL saga continues. AT&T switched the data path to interleave and lowered the download speed and now it isn't losing sync anymore but the speed, which wasn't great to begin with, is now even worse. I'm told that another line tech will be out today.

Wrote a simple facebook application yesterday. Not completely happy with it, but, it does work and do what it is supposed to with a few minor issues. Back to python coding today.... and that task that didn't get completed Sunday because the Government stole an hour from me.

I'll bet AT&T says... wow, you have really old copper in this area and whoever provisioned this circuit didn't remove the bridge taps. We're surprised it worked as well as it did. We'll recondition the line and see if we can't get it working better, but, its going to take some time. We'll be in touch -- you just keep paying for the higher speed service until you cancel. (just kidding, they won't say the last sentence)

Not much to say, i am working my butt off, yes i am realy working already for a couple of days and on this moment i have already done 7 hours of working today:D, i need one thing to be totally done and that thing will take several days...but i am still a happy camper and still wish you all a great day and eve!|boobies|

Cleo i hope soon your DSL stuff will be fixed, nothing more driving a person nuts when it involves DSL or other net problems:(

Just looked out my window and there is a whole fleet of AT&T trucks in front of my house.

I was told by the AT&T line tech the other day that I have really old copper and that fiber has been laid up to the Gallery Mall which is one mile south of me.

Comcast cable is my only other choice and it goes down for hours at a time a few days a week or for weeks at a time after a hurricane so even if I do have Comcast put back in I would still need to leave DSL in as a backup which is what I was doing.

High winds last night blew a vent cover off my roof so I have to get up there and put that back on.. but its too cold out so I'll just hope for no rain.

Cold as hell here today also. Got the cable guy stopping by today to test my internet. The connection keeps dropping for a minute or 2 5-6 times a day.

AT&T just left. Last tech had a coil changed out on my line at the central office whatever that means. Looks like between 2 to 2.5 megs download and 384kb upload is the best I'm going to get but at least I don't seem to be losing sync anymore so I can start Rsync before going to bed at night and wake up to everything being on my server. Guess I can live with this until U-verse is available where I live.

Morning all. Crazy time getting on the train but I made it. Even though I had to cut it off 2 stops ahead and jump on basically. I didn't have time check the ticket. The one day out of the month the conductor checks for tickets. Then I had to spin him a yarn to get out of trouble.

I hope I have good copper today.

Spent the day yesterday running around looking at cars and fighting with salesmen. Had one that was banging on my window after LYING to me and me catching him.. the price of the car went from 11,900.00 to 6500.00 .. Fucker!! |angry|
then calmed down and had a great Linner (that's lunch/dinner) with Red Cherry & Mad Hatter and the RDawg. It was great... |thumb

Then I got home to not 1 but 2 letters from the IRS. |scared| that I have yet to open. I just have to find a way to put on my big girl panties and face the music..

so today will be spent working, looking at the letters, working and a movie later when the chick who does our office work comes for her 1 a month visit.

Hello all. I have been busy working around the house while Emmy has been away but I am going to see Slumdog Millionaire tonight for a break. All I have to do now is figure out what to eat first. Its not like the house isn't stocked with food, I'm just bored of my cooking :)

I can't get this @#$%^ HD receiver to recognize my speaker system or xbox. Might have to call in the Geek Squad...
