Back from 24 hours of hell

I got up yesterday morning to no internet. So I called att. We've had DSL for about 6 months or so, never had a problem. I get tech support and they say that we disconnected our internet. NO FUCKING WAY! so they send me to provisioning, they send me back to tech support. Everyone says I disconnected my service. Finally I get Joy from Reno on the phone who says it was dissconnected and no way will you get back up soon....probably be weeks.

By this time I'm ready to drive to Reno to have a little one on one chat with Joy when I ask to speak to a supervisor. She gets me Natalie

Natalie tells me a John from Texas, who was trying to correct a billing error, and without telling anyone he was going to do it SHUT OFF LIKE 75 PEOPLE FROM DSL just cancelled them. On a fucking FRIDAY.

So Natalie and I brainstorm and after about 2 hours, she realizes the fastest way to get me up is to install a new phone line, and provision DSL on it. I'm like fine, whatever.

Thank god 1:30 pm Paul, a great guy shows up and installs the new line. I try to get a hold of Natalie, who is out of her office. Tick tock friday afternoon. Finally about 3:30, after he goes and does stuff out along the street at various boxes, I get ahold of Natalie who says Reno has turned it on. Paul gets ahold of Pahrump, and they turn it on.

Paul leaves, figure I'm good to go. I call up tech support so I can register, and long story shorter, they say provisioning was originally set for Monday, so you can't register until then. |banghead|

I manage to get my cell phone attached about 3am and check my ebay auctions and fall asleep.

I get up this morning to see the internet light on green! Someone is looking out for us! I just finished all the registration, and I'm back online. I shudder to see our bill after all this, but Natalie insured me all install costs would be waived. Now I get to decide do I keep two phone lines or not, lol.

I'm sooooo glad to be back on the internet.

hell that sucks bad Redcherry! Glad you are connected again, still funny ....see how we people get freaked out when we have no net connection anymore:D we are to hooked to the net!

I'm thinking John in Texas who caused this snafu is in deep shit. I know the manager I was working with was pretty angry that they did this, didn't notify any customers, att staff, and pulled it on a Friday.
