Hey guys, I just made what will become my first free site.
I wanted to make sure the content is cool and the structure is correct. Really want to get the best out of it, any help would be appreciated!

The header you are using is huge, and its the same header as the site your promoting. I wouldnt reject you for this but it will draw my attention when reviewing your site. I have my resolution by 1024 by 768 and the banner/header takes up my whole screen.
You get to use three adds on your site, use them.
The one add that you use on your main and gallery pages links directly to the join page. If your going to link directly to the join page you need to make sure you sell them first. On the adds that i use, i send the visitor to the tour page of the site.
You dont have any link list on your recips yet. When you do compile them make sure none of them are blind, meaning you need to have the link list name in the recip. This is a very common mistake.

burntfilm 2009-08-11 09:46 PM

thanks hashbury, I'll make those adjustments.

NY Jester 2009-08-11 11:55 PM

I'd also remove the 'webmaster' link at the bottom and take advantage of the 3 out links rule for more sales text on the pages. You're trying to entertain surfers not webmasters (2 cents) if a webmaster comes across your site and likes what he/she sees they will certainly click over to it and look for an affiliate link.

burntfilm 2009-08-12 09:06 PM

done, thanks jester

burntfilm 2009-08-12 09:57 PM

ok, I've made these amendments and added some recips, wanna take another look? : )

In my opinion, very nice looking.

NY Jester 2009-08-13 01:14 AM

You are allowed 3 outgoing links to sponsors. Make use of those, they are very important. The home page doesnt have any.

Check this one out as an example of using the 3 links out. http://www.jesterssecretstash.com/fs/ashlynn-brooke/

burntfilm 2009-08-13 02:18 AM

Gotcha and done. Added 3 outgoing links to sponsors to the warning page and the main page.

http://www.ivyblack.net/hot-stuff/fs...e/warning.html

that one you posted looks nice, all of the recips are symmetrical and match.
should I be doing that instead of using buttons?
In gg's rules I'm reading "Number Of Other Link Lists You Are Submitting To = 5" as a minimum, right?

is target="_blank" allowed?

Greenguy 2009-08-13 05:53 AM

I gotta jump in & say that the logo is way too big & a bit annoying. Plus, I have this feeling that the next free site you build will also have that logo, which means 10 or 12 sites down the road, I'm going to be come really annoyed with the logo :D Also, you're lacking a clear title on the 1st page (not the html title tag, a title on the page)

Yes, 5 is the minimum for recips, but most people use 15-30.

What category do you plan on submitting this to anyway? It's kinda strange to see glamor pics mixed with amateur type pics, even if it's the same girl.

NY Jester 2009-08-13 01:19 PM

You may want to look at a few of the Link Lists and browse over the sites that are listed. Make notes of site structure etc. It will help when you make more.

Also, just a quick heads-up - your Joanna Angel link doesnt have your PA in it shows 'PA=000000'

noted. Just like Ivy's content isn't the same cookie cutter bullshit over and over again, her templates won't be either. In re: categories, this is harder, We'd go with "Amateur Solo Girl" or something along those lines, but that's really part of my first question in this thread in re content. I mixed the two here because it showcases what's inside Ivy's site, which is both. This girl with the big eyes and apple sauce is the same girl vamping it up under studio lights. If I can't get a free site with 2 different styles of content accepted, I'll have to change that and put two glam sets together or two am sets together. It's all really new to me.

thanks for the tips Greenie, really appreciate it. and thanks Jester for pointing that 000000 out, what a waste that would be.

Generally, no.

Most of my sales come from the index page, a few from the main page and fewer still from the gallery pages, but I have three ads on the gallery pages anyway, you never know...

With your banners you might try some unlinked text above the banners with linked text underneath, words sell, not banners.....usually. Use words with a "call to action". Tell the surfer what to do. "Click Here For Ivy Black's Hardcore", "Check Out Ivy Black's Free Tour", if it's linked text under the banner you can have what by itself would be a blind link "Click Here For The Hardcore".(it's considered part of the banner)

I know bandwidth is cheap but your full size images are huge imho. I use Irfanview (free) to compress images to around 80 KB max. Just a thought.

Sven800 2009-08-13 07:07 PM

I would list it, although the header is a bit on the large side. By the third or fourth site with the same header it would get rejected.

streetux 2009-08-13 09:18 PM

i would list this also

Thanks. added the text around the banners, made text links more of a "Call" using different wording. Compressed the header and also resized the big images from the 150-180px range to the 90-120px range.
I appreciate that - here are the changes

Licker4U 2009-08-14 12:43 PM

Other than the glamour and amateur content being mixed, it looks good. |thumb

hashbury 2009-08-14 12:55 PM

It doesnt look too bad. The banners you have on the bottom might look better if you put one towards the top of the page, and leave one towards the bottom. The only other thing is the content being mixed, like licker said. When you submit to a linklist you submit to a category and its better if all your content matches the category. Surfers going to an amateur category want to see amateur stuff, and vice versa with a glamour cat. You want to be able to target your traffic as best as you can.

burntfilm 2009-08-14 01:42 PM

thanks, ok, I'll start pairing the content by niche if that will help get it listed, the fact that I like the sales pitch featuring the variance is def. secondary to getting listed in the first place.

burntfilm 2009-08-14 02:51 PM

Made an all glamor version

I like the logo and the whole site layout

I would list it the way it is or was :-)

I am sorry but you guys are a little to much ..
The logo is to big ... omg

dif0r 2009-08-24 12:40 PM

The site looks fine to me and I would list it

Licker4U 2009-08-24 05:13 PM

Unless you just like the default blue border on your banners and images you might want to put border="0" in your img src tags. |huh

Damn this post was really what i needed. I was thinking about trying my hand at a free site but i did not know where to start or what rules I should follow when making it. The comments that people have made here are very useful. Whenever I get my free site made I will start a post so you guys will hopefully review it.
