An Australian website is enabling internet users to send a text message to the Gliese 581d exoplanet, in the hope of making contact with aliens or extraterrestrials.
The website has been set up to mark national science week in Australia, and people from all over the world are invited to submit a message, no longer than 160 characters, that will be beamed in to space by satellites at the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex.
