Running on a treadmill? What am I doing wrong?
I've always loved the concept of freesites, and have seen some simply AMAZING conversion ratios on traffic coming from my submitted freesites.
But, with shooting, and maintaining my program, I've always had a hard time finding time between it all to build/submit freesites 3 months ago or so, my girlfriend finally finished university, and decided to work with me. I thought GREAT! Finally someone to help me out to take care of the day-to-day! She's been building freesites and submitting them 5 days a week...shes up to...like 50 or 60 of them now. However, I've not really seen an increase in traffic. It feels like there is something BIG I'm missing, thats right under my nose and when someone tells me I'll slap my forehead and say "OH! DUH!" We've been submitting to greenie and the other big guys, but with only 1 index page, not creating multiple index pages to get on more link lists - I assume this is one big way to garner more traffic from the submissions, but I mean...even without that - should I not being seeing growth, even with submitting to greenie, penisbot, etc etc. daily? On the whole traffic across the rest of our network is doing great, and this is the one thing that has stayed stagnant while we see huge growth everywhere else. so...I beg you...what am I doing wrong? |banghead| thank you in advance for any advice you guys are kind enough to bestow :) |
Just perhaps to explain myself a little better...
I mean growth, in terms of old sites being archived but still getting traffic. I always thought that's what was great about these sites, is kind of - the more you build, slowly but surely your overall traffic will slowly grow exponentially. What I'm experiencing is, feels like - only the site that got submittied today or yesterday is getting traffic, which is why I'm not seeing "growth". Should I have her stop building new sites and just recycle old sites? |
Take out the word 'exponentially' for more realistic results.
A lot of the porn keywords are now owned by free tube sites. |

Thanks Mike |
Go to Google and type in porn, free porn, sex, etc. and look at the results. Tubes.

With so much competition in SE's now, I do agree that it is highly unlikely that a little freesite will get anywhere in google to actually bring in traffic hehe thank you HowlingWulf :) |

But I'm no SEO guru - so maybe someone else could yay/nay that? It's just what I've heard, hehe but back to the freesites issue...am I missing something, is there no possibility for exponential growth with freesites anymore? Should I stop building new ones, and just re-submit the 50-60 I already built? |

They don't need much text to spider when 10s of thousands of surfers are linking to them *because they like them* -- just like surfers used to save and post links to TGPs and LLs in all kinds of places for us. Well, now those surfers are posting links to the tube sites main pages and to all of their favorite video clips pages. Take a look at xhamster on site explorer (yahoo) and tell me if your site would be doing better if you had over 94,0000 in-links.

tube sites must the BIGGEST waste of time for legit paysites. I've submitted alot of my own videos to tubesites, they even got alot of views and great ratings... but no one cared to visit my site because tube viewers are free-loaders that love low-resolution blurry video. Something needs to be done, these sites are killing the industry like napster to music. I hear google is working on an adult-oriented adwords branch (remember they used to cater to MGP's with 1 cent clicks?) but thats just a rumor
