Apple ships a known vulnerable version of Flash with Snow Leopard
The last thing you expect when you upgrade your operating system, is that you will have some of your security silently downgraded.
But that's precisely what seems to have happened with Mac OS X Snow Leopard, which ignores that you have been keeping Adobe Flash up-to-date and downgrades it to an earlier version http://www.sophos.com/blogs/gc/g/200...-snow-leopard/ |
So what the big deal?
I actually noticed this after I went to a site that uses Flash and went to Adobe's site and updated. At the time I thought it was just another of the many updates from Adobe. This is a non issue. Just go to Adobe and update. All plugins and downloads are sandboxed anyway so it's not like it's any big security issue. |
I have to update something????
FUCK THAT!!!! I'm going back to MicroVirus.... |
The idea was
1 apple shipped an outdated (and exploited) piece of software embedded in the upgrade 2 they DOWNGRADED a patched version of software silently with no notification ;) |
It probably was the current version of Flash when the DVDs went golden master.

Go grab the latest version and you are good to go.
I recently installed new shit and similar shit happened. |
