Domain Name

I want to get a domain but the name is taken, so if the name were say, "girls", should I get g-i-r-l-s or g_i_r_l_s or ????

That's a very bad idea. You're going to lose a lot of type-in traffic to the non-hyphenated domain.

I realize that but the letters of the word make an anacronym for a phrase I want to use :) What else can I do?

I don't think you can buy domains with _'s, just -'s

Try a "z" like girlz |thumb

Personally I think the non-hyphenated issue is simply one that's been passed down from generation to generation without thought.

There are times when hyphens are appropriate. In Licker's case, I think it would work if he can really brand the acronym so that people, when they think of his site, think of G. I. R. L. S. and not GIRLS

A "z" won't work for the acronym. If the word were "girls" that could be an acronmy for "Girls In Really Loose Skirts" "Girle In Really Lose Zkirts" just wouldn't work.

I tried using .'s but the registrar wouldn't take it like that. |cry| I guess it needs to be a - or a number
