true, but.. 2 weeks before he was nominated, he was elected on usa president..

That's what I was thinking. After bush lost two long wars, almost anything we could do would seem peaceful.

Sadly, however, it does seem like a cruel joke, considering obama's wars so far.

I think it's just europe saying fuck you to america. And we deserve it.

Obama hasn't run two wars, he inherited them and so far hasn't had time to do anything with them.

One doesn't have to DO anything to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, other than speak for peace.

It would make more sense to complain about a person receiving the award if you knew of someone else whom you felt was more deserving. But that's not the case here. It isn't Survivor or American Idol.

Like him or not, he's world-famous for wanting peace rather than war, and calling for friendlier communications between all nations.

Being the first black president is historic

I think because he is the first black Pres He will be as famous in history as Abe Lincoln is. Two hundred years from now school kids are gonna be learning about him.

And I think nobel wanted to be attached to that.
