Question about Recip Blocks

I have that noticed a lot of Linkmasters have started adding a rule that forbids any recips to have outgoing links to more than one domain. Most will have one to the main directory and one to a specific niche section of the link list.

Of those of you who have such a rule, what is the basis for it. It strikes me as a practice that would benefit list owners (ABC linking is considered better than recip linking), not so much for free site submitters, who will lose more link juice.

That is still one domain just two different URL's which is fine. The rule that is in place is for recips that link to two different domains http://www.siteA.com and http://www.siteB.com is a no-no

That's what i was asking. Why is it a no no?

Because, That is a misleading link.

Because youre sending surfers to two different sites. The site you submit most likely isn't listed on both sites. The way you worded it though you are saying, the recip leads to the main domain index page and then a deep link within the same directory to the category page. And thats fine.

Pull out a dictionary and look for the word "reciprocal." If the link isn't reciprocal, it doesn't belong in the recip block.

Because a while back a couple of linklists snuck in extra links into their "required" recip, leaching off the linkjuice unfairly from other linklists.

Thus causing the statement of a new rule on some linklists. Everybody stopped doing it after they realized they weren't going to be rewarded for their leaching, so now the rule rarely applies.

Like many rules, its an artifact of an earlier attempt to cheat or game the system.

Yes, it IS reciprocal. It just ads another link, but the exchange still reciprocal.

Sorry but it isn't "reciprocal" it's 2 for 1. You want 2 outgoing links listed on 1 free site receipt. it's 1 for 1.
