Useful Tool Series: Microwave Bacon Cooker

I know I'm not the only one who wished I can cook bacon without a frying pan and into the microwave. This contraption actually cooks lighter, leaner and healthier bacon - cooking racks allow fat to drip into exclusive deep base.

Would you buy it?

Bacon is food of the gods!

I was just told my cholesterol is slightly elevated, but just to be more on the godly side, I still plan on eating it. |thumb

I've had a microwave bacon cooker for well over 10 years (doesn't look much like yours though, it is flatter and looks more like a plastic grill pan). I used to use it a lot, but a few years back I was given a George Foreman Grill for my birthday, I use that now.

I love to eat, and have a hell of a lot of microwave cooking devices (bacon cooker, egg boiler, egg poacher, omelet maker, steamer, rice cooker, etc), but I haven't used them much in the past few years. I moved to a place with a bigger kitchen and built up my collection of electric cooking aids instead (deep fat fryer, rice steamer, vegetable steamer, slow cooker, George Foreman Grill, donut maker, sandwich toaster, popcorn maker, milk heater, ice cream maker, and several types of coffee makers).

Like I said, I like eating (I like coffee too).

As a huge fan of bacon, I have to say that I've never gotten it to turn out quite right in a microwave; bacon cooking contraptions or not.

On that note, though, a friend of mine was at a pastry shop this week and got some maple cheesecake with maple candied bacon topping. I might have to figure that out for myself, now.

Too small.

I need to cook a pound in one shot.

Jees, I'm glad I'm not your arteries! |shocking|
I thought I ate a lot of dead pig products, but a pound in one sitting! I don't know if I should be impressed or horrified, but I have decided that if anyone starts a GG&J dead pool, I'm betting on you!

it looks like a time and hassle saver but its hard to beat the bacon thats been out for a good while now that is precooked and all you gotta do is mic 3 or 4 strips for about 20sec

bacon eggs and toast rock and I can cook it in under 4 or 5 min

To make it perfect, sling in some black pudding too.

There's an Irish pub not too far from me that has traditional fare. I've learned to love black pudding :)
