Quote:

SIC Cash will cease operations as of August 1, 2010.

Due to the current economic circumstances, and significant shifts within the adult industry, it is with great sadness that we announce the closure of SIC Cash. We would like to thank all our webmasters for your years of hard work. Thanks to you, this has been a rollercoaster of a ride.

We wish you the best of luck on all your future endeavors.
And another one...............

I saw that one coming with the departure of Greg and Shok.. We should start a death pool because there's a few other big ones I think will close soon... ;)

So far none that I promote but I'm keeping my fingers crossed |bow|

While I haven't promoted SIC Cash in a very long time I have a whole fucking shit load of stuff promoting them that I'm going to 404 today.

I didn't run into any issues 404ing the other stuff that used the other dead sponsors. I guess places that list stuff has gotten very understanding.

People are just not buying the mega back ends of unrelated leased content anymore.

That type of content seems to be given away for free or end up appearing on the tubes (stolen or otherwise). I went to a free, 100% legal site today and, in just one area, saw over 5,000+ complete DVDs for the viewing. Some were classics from the 1980s right up to stuff released from last year. How can leased, mega content paysites contend with that?

Then I went to some of the top sites that produce their own content. I copied titles of a couple of new scenes from this week, did a search and the number 1 rankings were 100% free, Rapidshare-type sites.

It's brutal out there!

whats really bad is that most all of the webmasters that quit got bought out or there stuff is on someones box and a deal worked out

and the programs who have closed in one way or another there content never went away either

so less webmasters and less sponsors have not really helpd other that are trying to stay afloat

They already fucked me. Good riddance.

At least I only had promo for SIC Cash on one domain. Still it was a lot, 6000+ results in a search for my code on that domain.

I deleted all the directories with my SIC Cash code in it plus the root of kinky-cleo.com.

The root of kinky-cleo.com was a hub to all the free sites on it and it just wasn't worth rebuiding the root hub so I also 404 it cleos-porn-links.com.

There are still whole lot of active sites at kinky-cleo.com, I only pulled SIC Cash stuff, but I haven't added anything new to it in over a year either.

I think we are going to be seeing a whole lot more of promo going 404. When a sponsor goes out of business there really isn't any other choice.

I'm also thinking that it is probably a good idea to use new domains more often.

EDIT,
I changed kinky-cleo.com's 404 page to a real 404 page so as not to confuse anyone.

I'm tempted to just redirect these all non-paying sponsors stuff to somewhere else in an attempt to get ones money back. |club|

Has anyone received final payments from Sic? I noted that the last two checks that were supposedly sent according to their payout listing never made it to my hands
