what interactive tools will keep members?
bbs? chat? what? any idea what works inside a paysite members area and keeps the members coming back?
|
Teleport live talent right into their bedrooms.
|
hahaha :) yeah, they wish |hammer
|
Live webcams with chat are always good.
|
Newsletters to keep them apprised of updates.
An active message board where they can talk to each other and the admins. Chatrooms. Basically anything that makes them feel like they are "part owners" of the site, so to speak. That's my $0.02 |
I have my own blog inside the site, which I try to update every day.
It can be a bastard finding things to write about, but it means there's something fresh each time the surfer comes in, and it gives the site a personal feel. They know who it is that's running the place. This is a very labour intensive way to keep members I must admit. LOL |
I use a blog too. I add 100 fresh new links every day. And other little tweaks. :)
|
hey thats some good advice, thanx!
how about a toon character for the page? is that good or is that not relevant to the member? btw: how can you find 100 new links each day? thats awesome |rasta| |

Maybe you could offer your members a free porn DVD if they stay members of your site for 3+ months, or whatever period of time makes it profitable. |
i made a joke too. now we both should go back in the corner we came from and practise our humoristic skills.

In my experience if you can reach a member personally they will stay a loyal member much longer then if they come into your site and feel sterilized. This is why personality based sites have such a high retention rate.
I am not sure what kind of site you are running but if you can connect with your surfer and let them know their is a real person behind the porn that is a good thing. Even if you run the site and use bought content bring your webmaster personality into play, of course if your a guy an alter ego female would be most beneficial. But have a journal/blog, have your picture on the first page when they enter and have a message that say " hi welcome to my site......." and chage it up once a week. Let them know what updates will be coming. "todays update is..., tomorrows is...., next week I have a special treat for you...." Give them something to look forward to. Also if you rely on cam sources, purchase the content, don't take the free version with 1000 links out to every other site on the system. Respond back to e-mails quickly and always be nice, even if they aren't. Some people are assholes just cause they have been treated badly by other webmasters but when you come back sweet they chill and get the problem resolved and remain members for a while. Hope that helps. :-) |

thank you sammy. |waves|
very wise words |smooch| my site will have bought content and i'm a guy. so i had the idea with the cartoon character. what do you think? |
Glad I could help. I honestly don't think a cartoon character is a good idea. It is a cute idea but most men looking at porn aren't looking for cute cartoons. Of course unless your site is a niche site geared towards that.
I would suggest you buy some clothed content of a very nice looking but professional looking girl and then portray yourself as a female voyerist or photographer and use the pics you bought to bring your alter ego into your site. Like one pic on the front page welcome area. Maybe post a new pic of "yourself" every once in a while in your journal with a little story about how you so love your site because.... and go in to some fantasy. It is so much easier for us girls in this biz, huh? We just have to be ourselves. |bananna| It's good to be a girl. lol |

I'm a big believer in interactive forums and message boards for member retention. Anything that changes daily and lets you build a sense of community.
|
i wonder at which amount of members you would start adding a board at
do you see a use in setting up a board on a site that only has 50 or 100 members? ive got sites with nice member basis already but i really wonder about my smaller sites |
All my sites have boards wether they have 10 members or 500 members. The difference is members of one of our sites can access all the other sites for free. For example a member that is into girls wearig sneakers will post saying he found another set on site x. We also allow them to request specific shoots.
And like Sammy says be super nice to them :) Every little bit helps. |
