I've just come up with a solution to save England

In England we have three problems:
1. Population is growing very quickly.
2. Rising sea levels are eating the land.
3. England is actually sinking (or to be more exact, Britain is "seesawing", Scotland is going up, and England is going down).

The last two mean that we are loosing land. The government's plan is to protect the areas of high population and industry, while letting the areas of low population and agriculture flood. For example: it is expected that about half of East Anglia will be under water in about twenty years. East Anglia is a large area (two big counties) and mostly agriculture.

So we will have a lot less land producing food, while the population (who are eating the little we do have) is set to nearly double over the next few decades. The result is - we will run out of food. The TV is already full of "don't waste food, we need it" type documentaries, and the Government is urging us to only buy what food we need, and not to over-stock if it means throwing some away when it goes bad.

In short, the smart money says that in a few years time the people of England will start to starve from a food shortage.

But today, I was surfing randomly (in an attempt to avoid actually working) and I came across a website that could be our salvation.

And not only could it save us, it could save everyone a fortune on their food bill (well everyone except vegetarians).

It's people. Soylent Green is made out of people. They're making our food out of people. Next thing they'll be breeding us like cattle for food.

ecchi 2010-09-02 12:12 PM

Wow, that reply was quick, you must be as desperate as me to find ways to avoid actually getting on with work. :)

Although aren't you a vegetarian? Doesn't that prevent you from eating people?

Cleo 2010-09-02 12:20 PM

Actually I am working but I multitask well and have a really big monitor.

Yeah I don't think eating people would be on my list of foods but to this day I do still wonder about my father saying that he didn't eat pork because it tasted like people.

I'm assuming you mean "Black Pudding" (Blood Pudding is the Swedish version and slightly different). If so - Black Pudding is a delicious food, hot or cold, and is particularly good for breakfast served fried with sausages, bacon, eggs, a fried slice (of bread), and baked beans. It is truly the food of the gods. Snails on the other hand are -- snails.

However I refuse to take seriously any culinary criticism from someone who comes from the country that invented spray on cheese! :)

Actually, although there are a lot of "non-English" in London, most are not from ex-colonies but from Europe. This is because, since we are part of the EU, there are no "economic borders" and anyone from any EU country can live and work in any other EU country, no work permit required. The only two large groups of ex-colonials are those from Asia, and the excessive loads of American tourists we get! (Bringing their sodding spray on cheese with them.)

Voltar 2010-09-03 07:38 PM

hahaha...i'll give you the spray on cheese one...but dang if it ain't good after a few beers late at night with some ritz crackers and summer sausage...

dang it, now i got to go buy me some spray on cheese next time i go to the store..

But hey, we have Captian Crunch and Lucky Charms too :)

Cleo 2010-09-03 07:48 PM

Yum, beer with Captian Crunch and Lucky Charms in it and spray on cheese on top.

terry 2010-09-04 08:34 AM

If buying Captain Crunch and Lucky Charms will help save England, then Im in!

Voltar 2010-09-04 11:18 AM

i had to send some to a webmaster in England one time, he couldn't get it there and had no idea of what he was missing ...so sad!

No, Captain Crunch and Lucky Charms will not do it. To save England you have to start eating People.

I used to buy US candy bars from a guy who had a contact in a US army base over here. However now I can get the peanut butter ones (my favourite) legitimately from a few specialist shops over here, which is better than from an American soldier who was (I'm guessing) "liberating" them from the army stores.

Voltar 2010-09-04 03:34 PM

you know it's real hard to take any country real seriously when they don't even have captian crunch or lucky charms :) :)

The fault lies with America for hording these things and not sharing them with the rest of the world.

Voltar 2010-09-05 11:13 AM

ahhh...the chant of the defeated masses...
we did fight a war and kicked some red wearing people out so we would have that right and freedom you know...(just joking around here folks...i like most people from england..i even buy thier xmas crackers from time to time..and no not the kind you eat..look them up)

in truth of the market forces were there, then it would be too ecchi...but the market in england must just be to small...it is after all only an island...what is it, only about 1/30th the size of the USA...but it does have some rich history to be proud of..
:)

Population wise Britain has about 1/5 of the population of the US, which I suppose means the same population of 10 average size states combined. The bigger US companies sell in UK, Kraft for example, not only sell over here, they have just taken over our biggest chocolate company. Marlborough are in all cigarette shops, Budweiser is one of our best selling lagers (more's the pitty), McDonald's and KFC are in most British towns, and most towns have several Starbuck's. But probably the second worst thing you have sent us is Fox. Our satellite broadcasting all comes through Sky TV, which is a division of Fox, they are also out 5th biggest terrestrial TV broadcaster (and anytime you want to take them back, please do). It is just the smaller companies and those with crap sales teams that cannot make it over here.

I take it you mean WW2, where you turned up late then took all the credit! :)

What tends to happen is we win the wars for you, but to save your feelings we pretend you won. Remember, the only recent war you did not have us helping you out was Viet Nam, and without us you got a proper ass whipping there! :)

Oh, I'm sure I can change your mind there! |devil|

Voltar 2010-09-05 05:16 PM

the looking up of the crackers was for the folks reading :)

alot of land mines in the Nam and war discusions..i'll stay away from those..

as for Fox, man it's the best!! beats the slant the BBC or CNN gives the new any day!
fair and balanced is always the best way to get and weigh your news..
after all Fox brought us all the Simpsons :)

and nope, not talking about population...everyone knows people squish..take india for example...talking about acual physical size..

oh and don't go knocking Budwieser!!!
and capt. crunch is made by general mills...a huge company..
check them out here
http://www.capncrunch.com/
the crunch berries are the best!
peanut butter isn't to bad either!
sorry you can't get them there...might be all the bad teeth, but who knows :) :)

General Mills sell some of their stuff over here, but not Capt Crunch. So either it is not good enough to sell abroad or they are deliberately keeping it from us.

Budweiser is about the most tasteless beer on the planet! If you like Bud, you don't like beer and want something that contains alcohol but no beer flavour. Outside America there is a theory that, if there is a god, he really hates Americans, and as a punishment he makes them drink Bud.

Voltar 2010-09-08 10:16 AM

dude, it's a clean beer...not some dark beer made from water some one just took a dump in(as alot of the waters over there in much of eu tend to be...see now we are getting back to the blood sausage thing again...americans just have better and cleaner palettes)...it's a shame your taste buds are so far gone you can't taste the difference...i guess when you really havn't had that choice for clean in centuries you get use to those things...hehehe :)
