DangerDave 2004-03-18 07:50 PM

Guns suck!

DD

SlickRick 2004-03-18 07:51 PM

Sorry you feel that way danger dave

Cleo 2004-03-18 07:58 PM

I completely agree with DangerDave.

In fact as a gunshot shooting victim myself who has six gunshot wounds and who has lost many friends to gunshots and also has lost a few family members to gunshots I can't even begin to express my hatred of guns.

Far too many guns and not enough brains.

SlickRick 2004-03-18 08:06 PM

sorry to hear about that cleo.

Not to preach here. Its the bad apples that make it tought for the law biding citizens.

Both DangerDave and myself are board moderators that could move or delete a thread, but that isn't going to happen. You asked for opinions about guns and you got two so far from "fragle people" as you seem to think of us.

If you don't like people's opinions then don't ask for them. Calling us names because you don't agree with us was uncalled for.

SlickRick 2004-03-18 08:31 PM

I meant fragle people as in not wanting to offend anyone on the subject.

And while this is seems its going to stay.

Why not make it hard for people that have hurt or killed with a car. After all it is the most dangerous thing anyone/everyone does, by driving a 3000 ++ LBS machine.

A gun is a safe thing in the proper hands. I am licensed to own and carry one in the state of CA and AZ

People kill people, be it from a rope, a knife, a car, a hammer, a brick, etc etc.

Cleo 2004-03-18 08:43 PM

It is spelled fragile not "fragle" and just because I believe that guns unlike cars, bricks, hammers or even a knife have no purpose to exist other then to kill does not make me fragile. Here lies the problem with guns in that it makes its owner feel empowered.

Here go watch a movie instead of wasting your time shooting guns.

SlickRick 2004-03-18 09:03 PM

Well you do not own a gun so how can you really speak for the rest.

I do not in any way feel empowered of being a gun owner.

But it is my right as an Americian to own one or two or 10,000. As it is for you not to own one or two or 10,000.

Cleo 2004-03-18 09:14 PM

I'm an American so I guess that gives me the right to bear arms. I for one have decided that I need to protect myself with tactical nukes in case all the crazies out there with guns decide to attack me.

What is everyone's recommendations on low yield nukes? I'm looking for something that doesn't take up too much space or require a lot of maintenance.

SlickRick 2004-03-18 09:42 PM

Yes correct, You are backed 100% by the United States of America to have that right to bare arms. Be it for self protection or for work or just your rights.

as for the "tactical nukes" Try building one. the FBI, CIA will be knocking down your door so fast it will make your head spin.

Not sure but I think that would be High Treeson againsts/on Native Soil. thats a big no no cleo....

Cleo 2004-03-18 09:51 PM

No treason here, I love America, just want to exercise my right to bear arms and my choice of protection is tactical nukes, no wimpy guns for me.

MrMaryLou 2004-03-18 09:56 PM

Different Strokes for Different Folks :) I am not a gun fan either but they have there place.

SlickRick 2004-03-18 10:01 PM

Write your local congressmen then.

As I said before a gun is a safe thing in the proper hands.

Two states have allowed me to do so. I don't own mine for protection I have mine for a hobby now. But when I lived in CA and was a business owner and transported simi large amounts of cash the state allowed me to take a course on firearm safty, and gave me the right to be licensed. And when my gun isnt in use it is always taken apart and locked up.

Greenguy 2004-03-18 10:10 PM

I remember Fraggle Rock - they have Doozer dolls at the local Media Play :)

I'm not a big fan of guns.

The house right next door to me was owned by born again Christens, it is owned by a same sex couple now, and when they were selling it we all went over to check out the house. It had this strange second floor addition that turned out to be an armory complete with a hidden room that had more guns in it than I've ever seen in one place. I guess they were all legal seeing as it was open house and they were very willing to show off their gun collection. There were gun turrets in the windows with drop down steal barriers. It was to be their holdout for when the end of the world came and I guess all us sinners wanted to pillage and plunder their homestead or something. They bought a cave in North Carolina and moved into it.

The two guys that own it now have since remodeled it and it is one of the nicest houses for many blocks, the dooms day room is gone and I doubt very much they are gun owners. Very few people were I live are, but I do have some friends that are gun owners. They are always telling me that I need to own a gun and point out the fact that I should have had one when I got shot.

I have cats and know how to use them so watch out I'm a bitch with pussies. :D

Sounds like your former neighbors were some wacked out, David Koresh, Branch Davidians wantabees.

I would never force my beliefs on anyone. Only you are in control your life.

Was the person/people ever cought for assult on you?

A friend of mine and myself had a gun pulled on us, by a over zelious cop that was fired after a complaint was filed againsts the officer.

SlickRick 2004-03-18 11:12 PM

Hey Chrome,

Do you own a glock?

Chrome 2004-03-18 11:26 PM

nope.. no glock...

inherited a couple of guns from my dad when he died. 22 rifle and a dumb little handgun. I keep them cause he'd be pissed if i got rid of them.

2nd amendment, stereotyping ,and fragles, OH MY!

I loved Fragle Rock.

I've owned guns (I think I actually still do in CA -- need to check up on that), shot many different guns, but I've also been shot at. Very scary stuff. There's no perfect answer.

But because of past history for me, I'm more nervous around knives. It's all about perspective and respect for other's feelings.

I own guns.

Most of them are for hunting. Each of my hunting firearms has a particular use for different types of game.

Also have firearms that were used for my former occupation. Therethey were nessecary. I know that me being armed often kept situations from escalatating to a point where someone got hurt.

I do feel we have a problem with guns in this country. I feel that all gun owners/purchasers need to have extensive background checks done, I believe they should undergo firearms safety training, and I feel there should be laws to require firearms to be stored in a safe manner.

Unfortunately this issue is so polarized that no resonsible legislation is likely to occur.

Back to the orginal question.

I would recomend the Sig/Sauer over the Glock. Both are well made reliable firearms but the Glock has some design features I feel are drawbacks.

Personally I carried an HK.
