Have you seen I spit on your grave?

Have you seen I spit on your grave 2010 release.

I watched the trailer and really like Sarah Butler in it.

I've actually seen it. I thought it was alright, but kind of brutal. Nothing special.

The original version got me into a lot of trouble on stage stage back on the days when I used to do stand up comedy. The film was banned over here but I saw it on a pirate video and I had a few minutes of material which was supposed to make the point that the film was basically saying "bad things will happen to you if you rape women" and pointing out that banning the film actually protected rapists. Unfortunately I used irony and took the position of a sexist pervert and talked about how it was good that this film was banned because banning it protected man's inalienable right to do whatever he liked to women, and a lot of people in the audience did not realise I was being ironic. They thought I was really saying that men should be allowed to rape women, and you can imagine the hostility I got from them!

I can understand your point of view, but majority won't agree with it.

The main reason behind banning must be to discourage violent act towards women.

Umm, did you actually read my post before replying? The point I was making was that the film is basically anti rape, and by banning it you are saying that rape is OK. You can disagree with me if you like, but please actually read what I am saying first. You cannot "discourage violent act towards women" by banning things that discourages violent act towards women!!!!!! That will lead to more rape not less!!!!!

I never saw the 2010 version, but I have seen the original which is so brutal I'm unsure why they felt the need to re-make it.

Because they thought it would make money!!!

There is never any "deep thinking" behind making/re-making a movie, someone at the studio simply thinks "OK, which of these projects will make us the most money?"

Yes for sure. Maybe I should have added to my previous post "..apart from the obvious reason to make money.."
