I've Finally Moved My Hosting To Colo-cation!

Well, it took me long enough, but I finally decided to move my hosting to cd34's Colo-cation |thumb

As most of you know, Colo-cation has hosted the board for about 7 years now & I bet that none of you can remember the last time it was down since we moved in with cd34. That's because we haven't been! 100% up-time over 7 years. Yeah, I can live with that!

Looking to cut my costs a bit, about 2 weeks ago I asked cd34 how much it'd be to host my sites & he gave me a GREAT deal |bow| From that point, it was a no-brainer.

So all my DNS's were changed over Wednesday afternoon & I'm officially where I should have been a LONG time ago - with Colo-cation |bananna|

yeah, Chris is the fucking man, for sure. never been happier with a host, and I got a lame account, I can't imagine how well he treats you bigger accounts.

Greenguy 2011-06-09 05:41 AM

I just refreshed LOR for the 1st time on the new server & WOW! I've never seen 30,000 links compile that FAST!

virgohippy 2011-06-09 06:05 AM

I'm surprised it's taken you this long. |couch|

I have to add my praise for Colo-cation too. Chris helped me move some things to his servers back in April and since the move I've been seeing loading times not just cut in half, but more like 4 to 5 times faster. Not just due to faster boxes but some tweaks he made and some suggestions that helped a lot too. |thumb

It's been years since I moved to Colo-cation but I'm still in shock at how much faster my stuff got after the move plus in all the years since the move I've had zero hosting issues.

:) I guessed right. :)

Nice to hear it went smooth.

Jeremy82 2011-06-09 11:29 AM

Hi Greenie, let me remind you, I am recieving an Error in LOR partner account submit form ("Your Name is required") ... It probably caused that movement...

Greenguy 2011-06-09 12:14 PM

Jeremy82 - it's broke - will have Sparky look at it when he gets back from the post office as he's getting his passport (and has been for the last 4 hours - lol)

Fonz 2011-06-09 01:41 PM

About time I'd say. I myself still use free hosting, it costs nothing and you get free banners with someone else's affiliate code on top of all your pages.

Never mind me, good move Greenie :)

Submits seem to be working just fine for me.

I guess I'm special. :D

Greenguy 2011-06-09 01:52 PM

Sparky just fixed the submit problem |thumb

JustRobert 2011-06-10 12:21 AM

Damn, I could of sworn Greenie was moving his huge stash of gummy bears from the basement to the poolhouse now that its summer.

Those are LONG gone!

Signed,
Fatty :)

Works for me - only problem I have is that the page takes longer to load for me.

I seem to have that problem with lots of sites hosted with co-location - not sure if its an IP issue |huh

bDok 2011-06-10 03:15 AM

Loads fast for me. Then again it loaded fast before too. :)

Greenguy 2011-06-10 05:37 AM

Mr Spock - as long as the submit goes thru (and it did) then just be happy - lol

:) If the problem is with the submit, it is probably due to there being more CGI activity than the server can handle. For example some idiot may be ruining a very CGI intensive site on the same server, such as, for example, a message board. |couch|

virgohippy 2011-06-13 03:25 AM

My submits are going through faster. :)

Tommy 2011-06-14 10:18 AM

I am very happy there

GigglesWorld 2011-06-15 01:09 PM

I'm going to have to check them out for my own websites.
