GG, do you have new reviewers?

Hey there GG |waves|

Have you recently changed your site reviewers or your listing requirements?

I've never had problems listed with your LL (I have 99% of my sites approved for years) but lately I find it hard to make it into LOR.

My sites are good, probably better than 90% of the free sites out there so I really don't understand what is going on... The only thing that came to my mind is you might have new guys to review the submissions.

An answer will be greatly appreciated.

Peace.

Greenguy 2004-03-29 10:01 AM

Nope - still the same 4 slaves & me playing the role of Master :)

Post a couple that didn't get listed & we can look into them.

priest 2004-03-29 10:10 AM

Okay, I will post a couple, just to show they are clean and easy to navigate. Basicly DMOZ type sites with no mirrors and BS.

http://www.desperate-to-pee.com/caught-while-peeing/
http://www.adult-xxxmovie.com/horny-traveler/

I've always put this recip table on sites I submit to DMOZ, so I can submit it to several LL too. Lately these kind of sites can't make it into your LL.

Peace.

Greenguy 2004-03-29 10:33 AM

You've got a bad mouseover code on the 1st one that causes the domain of the sponsor to always show up on the status bar on the bottom of my browser.

The 2nd one has 4 ads per page & the max is 3.

The 2 sites also look very similar - maybe the reviewers are getting tired of your templates?

priest 2004-03-29 10:42 AM

Ok, Thanks for the reply.

alb 2004-03-29 05:32 PM

hey GG, how long does it take you to review sites? I can't tell if my site has been rejected or I haven't given it enough time (about a week).

thanks,
AL

MrMaryLou 2004-03-29 05:43 PM

Normaly 24 to 36 hrs :) alb

Greenguy 2004-03-29 06:35 PM

If it's been a week & you're not listed, post the URL here & I'll take another look at it :)

alb 2004-03-29 09:22 PM

aren't the images supposed to be loading and stuff like that?

Celeb nude pics are almost as bad as cp (but less sick) nowadays especially when you put up fake nude pics of them.

If you're planning to be sued keep this up :)

Greenguy 2004-03-30 07:01 AM

alb - as soon as you show me that you have licenses to use the pics, especially the ones that belong to Mr Skin, I'll link to it.

Sure, I emailed the people at FlashCash on using their Mr. Skin content. On the other stuff I'm happy to PM/email you what I need to.

i think its a little out of line to compare what I do to a CP site. Anyway I was only recently made aware of the problems that fakes cause and have been in the process of editing them out (I have a lot to go through!). I'm almost done so hopefully they'll be removed to tonight.

thanks

You don't have a license nor permission to use any of those pics & you know it.

The pics you have up from Mr Skin are NOT the pics that are given away as free content via Mr Skin or Flash Cash - there's a very strict policy in place as far as the content used in promoting Mr Skin & the pics you have do NOT follow that policy. There were taken directly from the member area & are NOT the pics offered as free content.

Now, you want to talk about how you have pics of 17 year old girls on your porn site?

Get legal or stay the fuck away from this board.

?? The only explicit Mr. Skin pictures I use are the one's I use from FlashCash. I have lots of video caps, but no one owns the liscense to those, including Mr. Skin. All of his use of video caps are under fair use, the same policy I use. If I'm using pictures that are actually Mr. Skin's direct ownership and unknowingly used them, I'd take them down in a heart beat. I'm not a member of Mr. Skin's nor would I knowingly steal from him, but to assume he has a general ownership of all and everything celebrity is unfair.

sorry to step on toes

There is no such thing as "Public Domain" regarding your content, legally.

Greenguy 2004-03-30 01:26 PM

Damn - I missed all the pics you have in there from Playboy when I 1st looked.

You're just sitting around waiting to be served papers, huh?

I don't use public domain, I use fair use

RawAlex 2004-03-30 02:05 PM

Actually, you are using IGNORANCE. You cannot use pictures from playboy under "fair use" and also use them to promote a product or service (which is what you are doing).

Get a lawyer, you are going to need one... email sent to legal@playboy.

even to promote their own web site? and is it necessary to be so vindictive?

You've probably never produced your own content & had it stolen by some dumb piece of shit & used as if it was there own. I have & it's a pain in the ass.

You are a thief - plain & simple.

Scumbags like you are one of the reasons our industry is looked it in a bad light.

Fuck off.

I don't understand your rational. You link and advertise for sites that do the same thing as me but charge money. To blantantly disregard me and do nothing but insult me instead of having a normalized discussion of what I'm doing wrong is hypocritical and unfair. Point me to what I need to remove and I've removed it but just to get on my case is unreasonable.

Who am I 'thieving' from? I have direct links to the sites I advertise for (namely Mr. Skin and Playboy). Do you not think they would be pleased that I can earn them more money with their content then they could on their own? Even so, I've removed all traces of whats before. I understand celebrity content is a thorny issue but I believe I'm within my legal boundaries for what I'm doing.

Anyhow, I don't think I'm a scumbag or responsible for any reputation the adult industry has. In fact, I think my moral principles are rare and the fact that I run a decent free site with no pop ups or scams makes me a decent person. I'm trying to comply with what needs to be done but it doesn't help to just call me names.

despite this hostility, thanks for the feedback anyhow.

alb, you are not paying attention!

DO YOU HAVE DIRECT PERMISSION FROM THE CONTENT PRODUCERS TO USE THE EXACT CONTENT YOU CURRENTLY HAVE ON YOUR SITE?

Not "I will ask them now", not "I think they would be happy", but "Do you have permission before you used it?".

I think we all know the answer.

Any picture you do not have a license for needs to be removed. Anything you are using only in what you think is "fair use" needs to go... public domain is a joke started by theives. Start from there. Then remove any model that you cannot prove the age of at the time the picture was taken (see USC 18 section 2256 and 2257 for the legal requirements).

Keep going from there... soon you will have nothing on your site.

No, fair use actually wasn't something started by thieves. It's actually a part of free speech that helps protect us. If you are interested, please read at: http://fairuse.stanford.edu/

There is a large difference between public domain and fair use by the way. But you make some good points anyway.

thanks,
AL
