I'm a bit of a news hound so often work with the news on the TV but lately it seems that it is mostly almost nothing but news of the Republican's campaigns.

I guess it would be different if there was actually a chance that I would want to vote for one of them. |huh

To make matters worse our local news station and DirecTV is having a dispute over fees so it's been blacked out since last week so in order to get our local news I have to sit through the national news each morning.

IMHO, it is the weakest Republican field in years. With Romney the likely GOP candidate, I hope that Obama is an easy winner (with Hillary Clinton as the VP this time). It does seem that this whole contest has been going on for a long, long time.

Cleo - get an outdoor antenna - one of those nice 1950's ones are great - you'll be surprised at how many stations that'll pick up.

Here's a T-shirt you could wear while watching those campaigns

Really it's not that important to get all of 15 minutes of our local news followed by 15 minutes of sports and American Idol news. Usually we have the DVR grab the local morning news so that we can skip through the sports and American Idol news.

We did have an antenna on our bedroom set until DirecTV hooked up the new DVR for it. It was all sports, Spanish, religious plus a couple of local stations that came in really badly but we were just using a small indoor digital antenna.

Actually the over the air HD channels are excellent in fort lauderdale...you can catch about 30 of them counting the miami ones and the W Palm beach ones...and the HD is as crisp as ever...believe it or not, you are better with the round uhf antennas then the rabbit ears
