Today Is Tuesday, the 28th Day of August In 2012 The Year Of Our Lord

Morning! |waves|

I'm pissed that this Isaac storm is gonna dump some rain on my Labor Day Celebrations!

Three guesses at what I'll be doing today.....|nahnah|

It's raining.
Glad that we live in the part of this big sand bar that doesn't flood. Really glad that we don't live in New Orleans.

Our yard looks like a bomb went off in it. Sometime between the breaks in the rain I need to put out all the broken branches, palm fronds, coconuts and everything else out for tomorrow's bulk trash pickup. At least for the front yard. Back yard will have to wait for another day. Christy would help but today she starts school for the next three months in order to keep her teaching certificate so I get to do it by myself.

Other than doing yard cleanup just a day of work planned.

Water came up and crested higher than it did with Irene. I never felt the house was going to flood, but, there was an official report from the city that a house in Amy Fisher's neighborhood flooded. The water level got within 6" of Stage 1, many roads are closed, some are still flooded, but, not too bad. Lots of stuff floated around, so, we have lawn debris everywhere. I suspect if the water level had risen another 18", we would have had problems.

Some pictures of the water

and our local Street closure map

Hope everyone has a good Tuesday, and for those in the path, good luck.

That white dot in the middle of the purple is roughly where I live. So, that would suggest that we had some of the heaviest rains. They are putting the rainfall totals for the storm in our city at 19" for the storm (three days). Our average annual rainfall is 63".

And, I did find that the roof still has a minor leak.

Lake Okeechobee is up to 13.12 as of today.

Bic for Her - Bic releases a pen, for women. Some of the comments are quite entertaining.

Just wait until Joyce, Kirk, Leslie or one of the other storms for this year hit.

Good evening.

No tropical storms or hurricanes heading my way so I just cleared out my linkspun queue of trade requests and checked some old linktrades on my LL, and blogs. Damn lots of sites have just disappeared (all swedguy's old sites are gone).

Anyway, going to watch some soccer. The only Belgian team that interests me can qualify for the Champions League today. Let's see how Anderlecht will perform...

Have a good and safe day all!

Joyce already fizzled. :)

Good afternoon.

Same old here except that allergies are not a factor -- touch wood (hehe!).

Have a great day! |thumb

The one projected to be Kirk probably won't make landfall. :)
