Moving from PC to Mac
My son is really wanting a Mac, but he has gigs and gigs of music. I am looking at a Mac Mini for Xmas, but I don't know what I'm getting into trying to transfer stuff from pc to Mac. I am fairly good with technical type stuff, but no experience with cross platform migrations.
Would you use a network connection? He has iTunes in his PC now, so I'm hoping iTunes on the Mac will take care of conversions, etc. He doesn't do any heavy duty webmastering stuff. Web surfing, email, music and videos are about it, but he does spend a lot of time with it. |

Simon posted a good link.
On the PC drag the music out of iTunes onto a removable drive. Plug the removable drive into the Mac and drag the music into iTunes. Or using a network connection mount the PC on the Mac and drag the music folder on the PC (\username\Music\iTunes) into iTunes. |
i would never trade my PC for a MAC imo ;)

Thanks all. I'm actually an old Mac user from way back...I had one of the original Lisa's, which later became the Mac XL. Seems like the last one I had was an SE. I switched over to pc around the time of Windows 2000. I remember people talking about Apple going out business, lol.

I almost switched over to PC around the time that Windows 98 came out due to Apple losing its way and Windows pulling ahead. Now there is no way in hell I would ever switch to Windows.

Does buying an iPad qualifies as "buying a Mac"? If so I'm becoming a Mac user too |fonz|
