Time For The Morning Thread (2013.01.17) ...
 

Good morning.

Got the flu shot yesterday and my energy level is really low today. Go figure.

Just lunch with my oldest brother and work on the agenda for today. I managed to gain back the few pounds I've lost over the last month so it is back on the elliptical this afternoon. No beer for me!

It takes about two weeks for your body to build up antibodies. This is one of the first years in a long time that I just haven't gotten around to getting a flu shot.

Went out kayaking last night and didn't get home until almost 11 pm. I'm not sure if I'm more tired or more sore. At just under 9 miles it's one of the longest paddles that we've done in a long time. It was a really great paddle though. We paddled all the way to Mayan Lake which is full of birds sleeping in the trees and fish jumping out of the water, sometimes right into your kayak. It was this lake that I first learned that pelicans sleep way up high in the trees.

Ibuprofen, work, plant the banana tree that our neighbor gave us yesterday, more Ibuprofen and then more work which will probably be followed by more Ibuprofen along with my favorite all around medicine. |potleaf|

Taking off today at 1pm and going back to Ottawa. Got some things to do around the house with some showings going on tonight. Plan to work from home tomorrow.

Our country is still covered with snow. So I stayed in and did some online work, put together my son's new bed and played some PS3. Life is tough.

I also accompanied my gf to the gynaecologist earlier today. It's certain now, she has to have a c-sec somewhere next week because the baby is laying in the wrong position to be born in a safe way naturally. So somewhere next week there will be another little Fonzie :)

More online stuff for me for the rest of the day.

I've got to get some work done.....

My last flu shot knocked me out for a couple of days, usually only kills me for a few hours. Possibly it is because they put the general flu and swine flu in the same jab. Or it could simply be because I am getting old!

My doctor won't let me get away with that. He gets me to roll up my sleeve for a blood pressure test, then while it is still rolled up he asks me if I have had the flu jab. If I say "no" he has needle in my arm before I have time to move!

That name was in the running for a long time but didn't make it in the end, unfortunately :)
