Up really early to no internet Tuesday 20130122
 

Still recovering from Sunday's paddle but getting ready to do more Wednesday night.

Both of us were woken up when the ceiling fan light in the kitchen came on at full brightness which is right outside of our bedroom door. No idea why that happened as it has never happened before. Since we went to bed early thought we thought might as well start working.

No internet... Our U-Verse was down, first time in years. Both of us, not yet all that awake, looked at each other wondering how we were going to call them without access to the internet to look up their number. Finally thought to see if the number was in my contacts and it was. Called and found out that there was a widespread outage so went back to bed.

Woken up again by our yard guy trimming our hedges. Checked if the internet was up and it was so here I am.

Up early as well, did my thing at home and not at work, yah. Not planned today but this week I do plan to work more on my network.

Good morning. There's no food at home and so we're having breakfast delivered. I've been lusting after this kind of breakfast.

Just got our internet back again. Seems AT&T is having issues with their DHCP routers and a good chink of the SE US is having issues.

I was up early here too but no Net problems with Comcast fortunately. Started working with my first mug of coffee and CNN in the background but then a reminder popped up telling me that "The Union" was about to start on HBO. It's a Cameron Crowe documentary about the reunion of Elton John and Leon Russel to record an album (after almost 40 years since they played together).

So I switched over to watch thinking I'd keep working with it in the background. As it turns out I got almost nothing done. I've been a big Leon Russel fan since before the Joe Cocker / Mad Dogs and Englishmen and the Concert For Bangladesh days. Seeing him at nearly 70 years old still able to write, arrange and play the way he does was a real treat. Actually had a tear in my eye more than once.

I know a lot of the younger board members wouldn't have ever had a chance to see him live back in the 70s/80s, but if you search for his name on YouTube you can definitely find some examples of his signature piano playing and easily identifiable voice. Here's one to get you started...

I spent the day in the hospital, actually I'm still here, because my gf gave birth to my 2nd son. We called him Cis. Mother and son are doing just fine.
