Squirrels are munching, Macaws are squawking. It's morning of the last day of January 2013
 

Trying to decide if I've caught a cold or if I'm suffering from allergies from hell. Just took a Claritin D. I hate the way they make me feel but it's still better than being a mess from allergies.

It's getting chilly here and starting to rain. Maybe we will get to use some of the wood we saved from all the tree trimming in the fireplace tonight.

Planning a day of work and not much else today.

I do love the weather in Buffalo. It was 65° yesterday & today it's 28° |snowman2 And, it's fucking |hurricane with gusts up to 60 MPH |cheese|

The Bitch is very |sars| It takes a lot to keep her down, but she spent yesterday on the couch, so I know it's bad. She did go to work, but her boss is apparently |barf| so it might be an early day for her.

And, speaking of the couch, the new one we ordered via Groupon is supposed to be delivered tomorrow |party2

Just work for me today, along with popping Echinacea all day & |pray|ing that I don't get this creeping crud that's going around |flush|

This year's flu seems to be unusually bad. I know a lot of people that have gotten really sick this year.

Christy's father is in the hospital with it. Yesterday they moved him out of intensive care and into a regular room so he is getting better. Doesn't help that he is a former smoker with a lot of lung damage.

|idea| We thought about visiting her folks and then we thought about catching the flu. Christy decided that phone calls were much safer.

Oddly this is one of the first years in a long time that I didn't get a flu shot, for no reason at all other than just not getting around to it. I've been using hand sanitizer after touching just about anything. Yesterday at the gym I went through the entire travel size of hand sanitizer that I keep on my gum bag.

This is The Bitch's 2nd flu & she did get the flu shot. I was supposed to, but I left my Dr's office before they gave it to me & I never bothered to ask for it again.

Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmm

Flu shot takes up to two weeks before the body builds up the antibodies. Even then there is no guaranty that you won't get it but if you do it's usually milder than if you didn't get vaccinated. Also from what I've heard this year's flu has already mutated into a new strain.

The flu is just plain |evilgrin|

Why is it that every time the weather changes I end up with a cold. Fuck that.
