Wake up it's Groundhog Day 20130202

We all need to go outside naked and see if we can see our shadow.

Work, gum, more work and then will probably watch a few more episodes of House Of Cards. Watched two episodes last night and had a hard time not watching even more episodes, it's addicting.

Morning |nahnah|

Being that I'm a Western New Yorker, I don't go by what that hack Punxsutawney Phil has to say |boooo| I rely on, the one & only, Dunkirk Dave http://www.link-o-rama.com/greenguy/graphics/mydick.gif <--- No Shadow :D

We finally started to hang up some of my new posters in The Pool House last night:

But I ran out of the plastic sleeves I'm putting all the poster's in, so we stopped around Midnight.

Trying to take it easy today since my back is hurting from last night. Sabres play in 2 hours, so that's a good excuse for me to lay on the couch for 3 hours :D And tonight, there's a really good looking UFC PPV |catfight|

Enjoy You Saturday |mOrrI|

Good Morning :)
Picked up the wife late last night from the airport. It's good to have her home because she stops me from working all night long which only ends up leaving me out of sorts for a couple of days.

Doing a bunch of work today while watching tv plus supercross is live on tv tonight :D

Nadia G's Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies

When asked about her bacon chocolate chip cookies, Bitchin' Kitchen host Nadia G simply replies, "'Nuff said." Well, we'll say some more: These sweets look stellar!

Mixing the bacon and maple syrup makes the cookies sweet and savory – for all those football-watching guys you'll be hosting at your house come Super Bowl Sunday.

Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies
Makes 48 to 52 cookies
• 12 slices of bacon, minced
• ¼ cup maple syrup
• 1 cup unsalted butter, diced
• ¾ cup granulated sugar
• ½ cup raw sugar
• 1 large egg
• 1 tsp. vanilla extract
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 tsp. baking soda
• 1½ cups quality milk chocolate, in chip-sized chunks • Flaky sea salt, such as Maldon

1. Position an oven rack in the center of the oven and preheat to 350º. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
2. For the bacon: In a medium frying pan, sauté the bacon until the fat has rendered and the bacon is crisp. Drain the fat from the pan, add the maple syrup and stir to blend. Sauté until the maple syrup becomes thick, 1 to 2 minutes. Transfer immediately to a small bowl and let cool.
3. For the batter: With a standing or handheld mixer, blend the butter and sugars until light and fluffy, 3 to 5 minutes. Add the egg and beat until well blended, 1 minute. Add the vanilla and beat for 30 seconds more. Stir in the flour and baking soda with a wooden spoon. Add the bacon and chocolate and stir to combine. Scoop heaping teaspoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet and sprinkle with sea salt. Bake until golden around the edges, 9 to 10 minutes.
4. Let the cookies cool for 1 minute, and then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Good evening,

Felt hung over most of the day from my night out to celebrate the new kid.
Just watched the world championship cyclocross that took place in Louisville, Kentucky. No surprise a Belgian won :)
Now it's almost time to put the little one in bath and after that go to bed myself.

Have a good day all!

what was the groundhogs fucking prediction this time?

let me guess - 6 more weeks lol.

I have a certain fondness for groundhogs day - its actually supposed to be the midpoint between the winter solstice and the vernal equinox - but the calendars have changed, the midpoint is actually on the 7th to 9th in the m9odern calendar - so that fucking groundhog is always woken up too early, lol.

apparently the fucking rodent is reading global warming science...

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/02/0...d-much-longer/

After recent weather that has included freezing cold snaps, fierce tornadoes and then record-breaking seasonal highs, it’s perhaps not surprising that Americans are looking for climatic solace in bizarre places.

So the news that a small, fat, Pennsylvania rodent called Phil has predicted a looming end to winter will perhaps come as a relief.

Yes, it’s Groundhog Day in America.

In front of thousands of people at Gobbler’s Knob, a rural area near the small town of Punxsutawney, a group of town elders repeated the famous tradition of consulting the town’s famous groundhog on the prospects of when winter might turn to spring.

To the relief of many, they reported that Phil had emerged from his lair and did not see his shadow – a sign that winter is soon to end. If he had seen his shadow, it would have indicated at least six more weeks of cold weather.
