What Year Is It?

My Mom just brought in the mail & to my surprise, I counted 6 - SIX - checks in with the normal pile of junk mail & bills.

For a split second, I thought it was 2007 |$bag| But then I totaled them up & saw that there were only 3 numbers before the decimal point |angry|

Checks are so last century.

It is nice though that I can use my iPhone to deposit the few checks that I do get each month.

This weekend one of the trannies that I host for came by and paid me in cash and I was like oh shit now I actually have to go to an ATM to deposit it.

I just gave 3 checks to my sister who works at the bank and cashes them for me. I'll probably do the same in 2-3 months :D

When I was living in NJ, I looked at checks as something normal. Now here in EU they seem kinda outdated.

I have been told by a couple of UK banks that the US banking system is outdated (compared with much of Europe). Perhaps this proves them right! :)

While most programs offer other payment options (bank transfer, Paxum, etc.) I just prefer to receive checks :)

Do you go into the bank to make a deposit too?

That's one of The Bitch's many duties as Vice President of Greenguy Marketing Inc :D

Plus, my step-daughter is Asst. Manager at our bank, so she likes to pop in & visit her a couple times a week.

I prefer the clothing optional method of depositing the few checks that I get.

Call me old fashion or even outdated as ecchi has stated about bankining in the US.

I like to receive checks, don't mind writing checks either to pay my bills and don't mind going to the bank to make a deposit.

I see it as keeping people employed. All I do is give up a few hours a month and a few bucks in postage. Just think how many people are needed to move a check from my house to Greenie's. I don't even like to use self check out lanes at stores if I can.

Yes, I'm foolish possibly even stupid for doing this but as long as I can I will.

My main problems with checks from sponsors is that I have to be present at the bank caching that check. Currently my traveling life makes checks a unnecessary hassle. On top of that waiting time for checks to be cleared is way to long ( apprx 30 days ).

Same. I don't mind going to the bank every couple of weeks, plus it saves me fees that I'd ordinarily have to pay if I were using one of the online services.

My main problems with checks is that they, along with a lot of my other mail, don't make it to my mailbox. I do get a bunch of my neighbor's mail though and sometimes one of my neighbors is even nice enough to give me my mail.

I do live in the place with the nickname Fort Liquordale. Today I got a ton of mail meant for the house on the next street. Guess I should go bring them their mail and see if they got anything for me.
